Not particularly long until you play off the back tees (6721 yards), when the par of 70 has a SSS of 73.
Bunkers were in good order, greens were quite quick for early in the year. There was some work ongoing, but the greenkeepers were reasonably unobtrusive, and stepped aside so as not to disturb our round. Wish I could say the same for the local residents who walk around the bridle paths talking away without a thought for who the disturb, and in one case without a thought for their own safety, when two little old ladies walked straight past us as we played into a par 3 - the bridle path went in front of the tee, and they were just about to walk in front of our 4th player teeing off!!
Over all a very good course.

Superb course, but disappointing greens
An excellent venue for golf, but spoiled slightly yesterday by very slow greens, which bordered on pay and play standard as well as attitude of members with two of our party asked to tuck shirts in, with one gentleman not even in the clubhouse, but stood in the golf shop.A great place that was spoiled a little

Nice course, very poor attitude
Played this mid-June after a few days golf before in the Nottingham area. The course does not compare to Sherwood Forest, Notts or Coxmoor but is perfectly fine with some very interesting greens. Our visit however was ruined by 2 things:
1. The club offered us a Monday deal with a reduced green fee plus food and a drink after our game. They knew what time we were starting and the lady in the clubhouse explained the deal to me before we played. When we finished we were told the chef had left so no food was available. Nothing. Nada. No offer of a free drink either. They were just not bothered.
2. We played this course on the very very hot weekend in June and it was sweltering. One of our group (a 9-handicapper from a very respectable course) had his shirt partially untucked as he walked off the 18th green. Out of the clubhouse jumped an old codger who promptly took a photo of him and told him to dress appropriately. When informed that we had seen other members in a similar state of dress, he was told that they would also get a "strong talking to". The member then went back into the club house and sat at a table looking out with his camera by him. We don't know if this is actually legal (we are beyond caring) but this stuffy and downright rude behaviour belongs in a club from several decades ago.
Needless to say they will not be taking any more of our money (£500) for our group and we will not return.
