First time playing the main course. What a joy to behold. Even after endless rains no puddles or muddy fairways, even buggies on the course! This is a special place. Fantastic fairways, aprons better than most courses greens and a lot more undulating than I imagined. It is long this time of year with little run out off your drives. Lots of slopes both fairways and greens, but all in lovely condition. It makes you think which is good. Relatively wide for the most part but far from easy. It must be a brute in the summer with greens running quick but I will be back. Good pro shop staff. Yes some of the older members are a bit ‘old school’ and can give the club a bad elitist feel but ignore those and this is just a great course.Course (layout/challlenge)

I always thought this course would be too difficult for a high handicapper. Some of the fairways were narrower than what I usually play on, but with some careful play, i didnt venture into the rough too much. Despite on and off rain, I thoroughly enjoyed playing here, and the clubhouse was very welcoming and food great. As the course is ten minutes from where I live, I would love to join, not many courses have this affect on me, I will have to persuade the wife, that it would be a good investment for me to joinCourse (layout/challlenge)

Great course and very dry in winter. The new pratise Facilities are top class in addition to a practise ground there is a grass range, 2 putting greens and a short game area . Its a golfer dream for a full day out. The ProSwing fitting studio fitted me with Woods & Irons so I had to return to play and practise. Best course for miles around.Course (layout/challlenge)

First time playing Northamptonshire County and very impressed. A good challenge to all, with a great variety of holes and plenty of strategically placed bunkers. Given recent dry spell the course was in fantastic condition. Fairways firm with plenty of run and the tricky greens still in really top condition. Definitely recommend.Course (layout/challlenge)

Utterly Superb, if its not the best ( Hollinwell ) then its the 2nd best course in the East Midlands, brilliant and in fantastic condition, the greens are very fast and if you are on the wrong side of the very sloped greens then "good Luck" 18 Fantastic Holes and the 19th was excellent and most accommodating as wellCourse (layout/challlenge)

Reviewed Dec 5 2018 by Terry G - rated 4 out of 5 I don't get to play this course nearly enough. It is a real challenge, which is why it is usually an Open Qualifier. Usually play in their Senior Open which fills up very quickly because it is so popular. The course is well laid out, although the greens on the other side of the railway line at the start of the back 9 holes seem to have some wicked slopes which can easily ruin a good round. The last couple of times I've played they are doing a lot of work to the course, which has improved the look, but may have reduced the difficulty (removed/chopped down gorse bushes). The natives are friendly, although one or two of the neighbours who use the public footpaths don't seem to have any idea that they also need to look out for golfers, not just the other way round! The food on offer has always been good, and the clubhouse facilities are first class.

Course in superb condition for December 2017, a week after the snow fall you wouldn't think it had happened. really lovely layout, you wouldn't get bored playing here every week.massive practice area at main entrance, academy course, putting and chipping greens. pro shop very friendly and helpful. £25 with a member very good value.
