Good golf course. Tees are q bit shabby and play was very slow however. Greens are good, given the cost of green fees

On arrival the society I was playing on was not greeted by any Golf staff as not on site yet. Temporary green was a hidden surprise as not told before hand. Course was wet due to rain which is all part of golf but the golf cards didn't match what the tee boxes so working out stapleford scores was eventfulReviewer Rating

the course was in good condition given it has just emerged from lockdown. The greens were easily the best we have played - running true and allowing a spinning ball to stop. The staff in the shop were very helpful and this is a course that plays well in the summer, boggy in the winter. Only one gripe and that was the group in front who showed no etiquette at all in allowing golfers through due the their slow, inept play. This ultimately caused a backlog behind to which they remained oblivious to the anger they were causing. One marshal in a buggy would have helped.

Interesting challenge
Well set up course that does not appear very long but has some well arranged holes. The course plays as a typical woodland course so needs careful management off the tee. It's still early in the year and the greens will get better as the season develops. It is probably worth having breakfast or lunch elsewhere as food is a bit hit or miss - cold, burnt sausages and items listed but not available.Reviewer Rating

ok, but very good potentially
Although my scores are pretty dismal, it isn't a bad golf course. It's just that, when we went, service wasn't good: shut halfway house places, terrible drinks (that we asked multiple times to have changed and still ended up with terrible tasting drinks). Obviously the course is struggling through the hot summer... they all are... but most of these things weren't about that(Round played: Aug 2018 - Score: 101 Handicap: 25.3)

Wet

Great course, however, it was freezing and the greens were not at all accepting, you literally had to run the ball 20 yards short to get onto the greens. Unfortunately I can't give a proper review until I go back and play it at its best during the warmer months.

Excellent place to come and play although since we had a very cold period the green were very hard, must remember to adapt your course management accordingly. Other than that the grounds were kept in very good condition and a joy to play there.
