Fair course with a few interesting holes. Plain parkland course in general. We played following the club championship so against tough pin placements which was a nice additional challenge. Given the bad weather course played well.

nice course at the foot of the downs.
not the most difficult test of ability as the yardage indicates.
strong par 4s at 2 and 17 however, and one of the best par 5s at 14 you will hope to play.
the new owners have clearly invested time and money into the place, but the trouble with drainage still appears to exist.
the bunkers are not in play (water logged) for probably 3 months of the year.
the sort of club i would consider joining if it werent for the wet and the price.

Always enjoy playing here, not majorly challenging but plays well for all abilities. Greens are normally in good condition, with interesting undulations, some of which are in the "Salmon Rushty" bracket (difficult read). Friendly, welcoming staff in the club house.

Although a fairly young course being flat and relatively wide fairways the condition of recent months has been excellent.
The quality of the bunkers has been the main concern and work is being undertaken to ensure this situation is addressed.
The greens are improving each season and re at present the best they have been for some time.

Having just stepped off the course I can say that the layout, variation of holes and surroundings are excellent, however the greens do let the course down, the were very slow and putts don't always run true. All the bunkers were out of play due to the wet weather we have had recently. I am going to give the greens the benefit of doubt due to the weather also and try again when the ground's a bit dryer to see if my opinion changes.

Greens very slow. No "hole guides" on tee boxes. Only 150 markers on fairways.
Good variation of hole shapes

Nice to be back.

Course looking good in the grey cold weather. Frost helps as not wet but you can see that it will be. Green quite hard but playing slow. A couple of divots from shots but not mine.Bunkers very playable and tee boxes in good shape. Overall not bad for this time of year.

Great Fairways

Played the course for the first time last week and was pleasantly surprised. Quite uniquely this summer the fairways are lush and actually have some spring in them. The layout of the course is interesting and the greens are a good pace although that probably varies day to day. The course is probably suitable for all levels of golfer but it’s slope of under 120 is probably a bit low so don’t expect to tame it.

Mayhem on the 10th

Was a return visit to Mid Sussex, I understand they have been struggling with staff shortages but felt the course was not as well presented as just after the 1st covid lockdown.
Bunkers seemed to be missing a lot of sand, not that I visited many.
Then whilst putting out on the ninth a divoting work party strolled by and proceeded to the 10th fairway were they stood around for almost 5 mins, then started work whilst we were left waiting to tee off. Then they didn't really move out of the landing zone, so we rushed our shots to get out of their way. What was more annoying was they didn't even acknowledge or apologise for interrupting our game.

Won't be back for a while!!
