What the club says: Brinsea Championship Course
The Brinsea Course is a demanding par 71 built upon prime pastureland, supporting a wide variety of flora & fauna. In addition new habitats have been provided by the formation of 11 acres of interlinked lakes and streams plus extensive tree planting which supplements the existing copses and hedgerows.
9 Hole Lakeside Course
The nine hole Lakeside Course boasts 7 par 4’s and two par 3’s and is an interesting 2329yds. It is maintained to a very high standard with lakes and an orchard among the hazards to negotiate. The course is ideal for the beginner or player with limited time who wishes to keep his club selection up to scratch.

It was our first visit to your course. The opening hole was a gentle start to the round. We then met the course and although we all enjoyed it the layout (water) caught is out on numerous occasions. We have all agreed that we would love to return and would play the course with a more cautious approach. Loved itReviewer Rating

Superb despite the rain
Fantastic two night 3 round stay . Staff very helpful and what a fantastic course, challenging with all the water but manageable if you are sensible .Special mention to Scott who made the whole process from first enquiry to booking so simple and was incredibly helpful .
Only comment from the group was could we have jugs of fruit juice on the table at breakfast. For 15 people , 9 golfers and 6 wives to only have that one criticism tells you what a fantastic stay we had.

Society visit
This was our first visit for a few years - the bar area and service was exceptional and the whole area is smart but relaxing. The course is an ideal society course - interesting but not over challenging and physically fine for our older members - a good day at a very good venue

Great challenge. A tale of two nines
The Championship Course has some great holes and is a very good course in great condition. The greens are true and well kept but very firm so land the ball in front during the summer dry spells. The Front nine is definitely easier than the back but the par 3s on the front a more challenging. The back nin has what is called the "Green mile" which is four holes that measure a total of 1900 yards. The 11th (Stroke index 1) is a par four but the approach to the green effectively makes it a par 5 for us mere mortals. I dont think it suits the high handicap golfer or beginner as the back is quite long and has water along side of the fairways on one side. I think it was a cracking course and the hospitality and food were exceptional. We stayed for two night with 3 games of golf and you really cannot beat the value as the rooms a great and everyone in our party said the food was brilliant.Reviewer Rating

Winter warmer deal
By chance, we saw the offer of a winter warmer deal. Breakfast and a round of golf on the Brinsea course. When we arrived, we expected 18 temps, but we were told it is open on 18 main greens despite the frost. We had the Brinsea breakfast which did the job before our round.By the time we tee'd off, the course had fully defrosted and it was in a superb condition. Fairways beautifully managed, first and rough cuts presentable, super greens. As expected, winter ted boxes but considering the offer, the recent weather, we felt we had fantastic value for our visit

The clubhouse, proshop and staff were all fab!
Whilst it was the end of a summer drought, we found the course in good condition, the only are for improvement might be the tee boxes, which weren’t irrigated and appeared somewhat messy.
However, it challenges without being silly! Love it!

A beautiful, challenging course and one of my favourites to play. Great clubhouse, excellent food and beer and friendly welcoming staff. I wholly recommend golfers to play the main course and if you don't have time you always play the shorter nine hole which is also excellent. Thanks for a great way to spend my spare time.Reviewer Rating

Very disappointing
From hole 6 we were waiting 15-20 mins per hole due to slow play ahead. Where were the marshals to speed play up? We ended up leaving at hole 12 after 3 hours of play (there was only two of us). No halfway house, food was poor at the club house. Very disappointing.Reviewer Rating

We thoroughly enjoyed our round at Mendip spring. The course is in a lovely setting and provides a good challenge .The clubhouse and staff were very welcoming and friendly and the food simple but well presented. My only issues were the pace of play... it was extremely slow and some ot the tees were in a poor condition but neither would prevent me from returning sometime soonReviewer Rating
