The bunkers badly need sand, disappointing for a good course.
Above all the practice green should really be more akin to the green surface not wildly different as it is at the moment.

i have been learning golf for about a year and went to play the 9 hole Lakeside course last week. It is a bit flat but really enjoyable none the less. My only complaint is there is no course guide available (not online or in the pro-shop or on the tee markings) so for someone who has never played the course before I had to tee off completely blind as to what and where I was aiming. It turns out the first is a dog leg. That is ok for me as my drives only go 170 but could cause problems for better golfers. Then you have to walk back down the first fairway to tee off on the second which isnt exactly safe. It was an enjoyable round that could've been more enjoyable if we had known where we were going!

Only played the 9 hole pay and play course. It's alright if you fancy a quick nine holes, but it's all very straight forward and short (longest hole is 308 yards). If it's been raining a lot the ground can get pretty heavy. Can get very busy at the weekend, with large queues on the 1st, and then a wait on every tee. Best to play very early, or late afternoon.

Very poor

Poorest greens I have played on in a very long time. Tee mats on virtually every hole. Course is a mess and obviously green keeping team are a disaster.

Tough but a joy to play

Only lost 2 balls which was much less than my playing companions.
Not too windy - dry and warmish.
This is my third round here over the last 12 years and will be back soon.
Greens were very fast.
