Good course, but would only play 9 holes. Spend extra money and go on Meon Championship.

A challenging layout . Greens are good. Only thing to note when playing the Stirling course is that the back 9 course can get very busy.

this is a very good course but the greens are the worst i have seen them in quite a few years probably to do with all the rain we have had this year. if you can get it for 20 pound or less a round i would recommend still play it but i wouldnt pay the full price while the greens are like they are

2nd Sep 2010 - fantastic course and very challenging but not in very good condition. Fairways and greens look like they have been really battered. We got a 4 ball for £70 which was ok but if youd paid £50 a head you would be disappointed.

Meon valley is one of the courses in Hants I keep coming back to, it's a pretty fair test of most peoples game and if you are playing well you might fancy your chances of having a good score. The first is a par 5 where the ideal tee shot is a long draw that may allow you to brave the ditch and get on in two, the 5th is a par 4 where again you have to hit your second (hopefully) over a ditch to a sharply angled green. The 12th is one of the signature holes where you tee off from a hill over a lake to a sloped green but I still find the tee shot on 13th more daunting with the almost vertical hill that needs to be carried to have a chance at the green. The course is generally in good shape but does suffer if there is prolonged rain but the greens are good and the tee areas are always in good nick which is a welcome rarity (I hate bloody mats). The food is good but you will pay hotel prices so it's not cheap well worth a visit though

GOOD COURSE, VERY LONG BUT ALWAYS IN GOOD CONDITION. MANY INTERESTING HOLES THAT KEEP YOUR INTEREST. LARGE WELL STOCKED PRO SHOP WITH FRIENDLY STAFF. REASONABLY GOOD DRIVING RANGE. LARGE PRACTICE PUTTING GREEN & GOOD CHIPPING AREA. PRICEY GREEN FEES DUE TO IT BEING A MARRIOTT HOTEL COURSE, WE ONLY PLAY IT USING 2 FOR 1 VOUCHERS, THEN IT'S GOOD VALUE!
