First time round here. Played the main 18. Decent value at £30 latish on a Saturday afternoon. Course is interesting in terms of layout and a decent test. Would benefit from going round it again in terms of where to aim off a few tees but enjoyed it. Pretty wet in places so likely better in summer and might well head back then. Greens were decent if a little slow.

Good course worth a visit.

Even though Britannia have taken over the hotel. The golf course is still kept in excellent nick. Both the manor and valley course are very good. Sadly the hotel is in poor nick compared to when it was owned by Marriott.

Our group of 14 had a good deal mid Sept 20 for £69 for 2 rounds, dinner, bed & breakfast. Very nice course - although difficult. Some memorable holes. Bar with plenty of outside seating by the 18th green. Large, pleasant hotel rooms. The food we had was good. All in all an enjoyable couple of days.

Pleasant Golf, Awful Hotel

The course was enjoyable with some precision shots needed.
However the Hotel was dreadful, the bar did not open until 6pm and you could not get any drinks at all before then. The pool is also closed and the pro shop also closes at 5pm so you can't even get a drink from there. The staff were few and far between. I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.

We played the nine hole course, which was not in the best of conditions at this time of year. It was quite fun though and a good deal better than a pitch and putt session.

Played on a weekday afternoon and although the course wasn't especially busy it took us 4.5hrs to get around as a 2 ball. This was mainly due to a 4 ball of members whose lives seemed to depend on the outcome of every putt & were oblivious to the queue of golfers that was building up behind them!
The course itself was in very nice condition & although running a little slowly, the greens were in very nice condition & ran true. In common with other courses in the area, the rough is unnecessarily thick therefore lost balls are pretty much guaranteed & this contributes to the slow pace of play.
Despite the above, I would still recommend this course & will soon return to try & better the 32 points that I managed on this visit.
