Rayleigh Club

I am now a member of this club, they do make a lot of effort to keep the course in good condition, and it is nice to play on well kept greens. There is a water hazard on 10 of the holes, and in recent years they have spent a lot of money up grading the course and drainage.
They also have marshals at peek times.

Hidden gem of Essex!

I play off 16, so I can get about a course OK and recently had been bored of my local courses in Essex. So I took a trip to Rayleigh to play the longer South this afternoon. WOW! Loved it!
After the snow 3 days ago and heavy rain since I was pleasantly SHOCKED at how GOOD the fairways and greens were. Unbelievable! The excellent condition combined with the superb layout around various lakes / ponds made this my new favourite course in Essex. Cannot wait to play it in the summer! For me, this beats Toot Hill and is about level for fun / enjoyment and reasonable challenge as Thorndon Park. Yes that's right, I rate this course as highly as "the number 1 in essex" Thorndon Park.

Course in excellent condition despite recent heavy rain showers, proving the recent drainage work has paid dividends. Greens good speed. Only down was time taken to be served for refreshments post match - no staff to be seen. £17 green fee very reasonable

Very nice course, a lot shorter than any I've played before but comes with it's challenges, perfect if you're just getting back into the game like myself or are jut starting out and want to take the leap from par 3 courses to a full 18 hole length course, greens were kept perfectly only quibble would be the state of the tees but the weather has been very dry of late and so to be expected I suppose.
