Great public course
Great value parkland course. Back 9 picturesque fairways between woods on either side.Reviewer Rating

Scorcher
Bone dry - ran forever.Course dry. No rakes in bunkers as public course and the locals nick them.
Greens in great condition generally. Not consistent, but quite clear which ones are lush green and those that are a bit faster.
For a twilight £11 you can't go wrong.

Lovely Greens
Just beautiful this time of year. You get a lot of extra length on the fairway drives...BUT, if your slightly offline, your in the woods. Holes 15 to 17 have softer greens...allowing for high approach shots (the greens are slightly shaded , so retain moisture).Reviewer Rating

Good old course layout, the course this time needed some attention, there was recent work on the greens that made it hard to putt. But it is an old public course that is cheap to play.(Round played: Aug 2021 - Score: 74 Handicap: 2)

Not nearly as bad as people make out
We've played here a few times now. Initially we had reservations. My mate more than me. The dogs on the course got him down a bit. Doesnt bother me at all. And he now agrees with me. All the bad reviews meant I was expecting something virtually unplayable. The greens are perfectly fine. Some of the fairways are long in places but everytime I've played I've seen them out maintaining it. And there are some interesting holes. Especially with some of the tighter holes with the trees surrounding it. For a public course I would say its worth a visit for sure. Personally I would rather play there for £18 than pay £40 to play where the members are all up themselves.Reviewer Rating

In good condition but not worth the money and it was packed
Garons is a 27 hole course and the course is in good condition. Spoiled by a ?34 for 18 holes price tag and packed with golfers so a 4 ball took close to 5 hours.Reviewer Rating

This is an old public golf course, although it's not very long because of the lay out you have to play for position as a lot of the course is in woodland. We were surprised how good the condition of the greens were but they needed cutting as they were very slow. This course is outstanding value for money. I played this course in the middle of May.Reviewer Rating
