This is my second review and its still poor.Sort the greens out greenkeeper cause they are far to long.Someone said to me they are growing the greens because they dont want the sun to burn them, doh,we have just had the wettest july on record.DOESNT MAKE SENSE.Play rayleigh its much nicer - Aug 1 2015
Golf Course Reviews for Belfairs Golf Club
Get what you pay for. Pay and play, cheap - greens could do with a lot of work. Layout is good, back 9 surrounded by trees. Dog walkers throughout the course make for some interesting encounters. Would play once a year just to change things up
(Round played: Jul 2018 - Score: 83 Handicap: 12.1)
Played here on Saturday and was shocked how bad it was.Bunkers was unplayable with no sand, and the fairways mostly had cut grass on them. This used to be my local but I fear it wont last another 5 years and looking at the tee times that was booked for the day apart from the block booking that was 730 to 930 there was only 2 tee times taken after that.
Greens in good nick for a public course but slow
Needs some more care but not bad
can not blame the green staff because the weather has been very wet the last month or so.
I would like to come back in the summer and play again as the ball would run (not get plugged on the tee shots)
(Round played: Apr 2018 - Score: 82 Handicap: 11.6)
Well the course used to be pretty good and playable all year. not any more. the place is like a bog. don't touch the ground with your club or you go no where. starter was proper miserable too. When asked are there any mats or temp tees, he just shrugged and said "dunno".
(Round played: Dec 2017 - Score: 96 Handicap: 14.5)
not enjoyable,i would give it about a month
to dry out.
(Round played: Jan 2018 - Score: 91 Handicap: 16.3)
Very good for a public course, A round of golf in the week is only £18
(Round played: Aug 2017 - Score: 99 Handicap: 27.3)
(Round played: Sep 2017 - Score: 73 Handicap: 5.5)
Beautiful back nine with tree lined fairways but you have to hit straight.
the course it's self is ok the fairways are not in the best condition and I didn't even play the 18th because of dog walkers just standing on the fairway without a consideration that it a a golf course.
the course is well laid out getting from hole to hole is easy
Fairways are very parched after the recent hot dry spell. The greens were left with quite a bit of length on them, so putts need a bit of welly to get to the hole.
(Round played: Jul 2017 - Score: 91 Handicap: 18)
(Round played: May 2017 - Score: 83 Handicap: 20.1)
Nice old public course good condition the grass on the greens was long so the greens were very slow but I would think this was to protect them from the dry hot weather
(Round played: May 2017 - Score: 75 Handicap: 5.8)
People walking along the fairways and did not move to allow us to play golf, local dog walkers etc. The round was spoilt by all this and will never go again.
