The famous Harry Colt (4 August 1869 – 21 November 1951) was the designer and architect of the back 9 at Belfair’s GC and it really shows. The front 9 can be a challenge but the back 9 is a great deal more difficult with emphasis on keeping the ball straight off the tee. Superb course and a real gem. Well worth playing.

Course in excellent condition, green were a little slow but no bare patches. One of my favourite courses with challenging driving holes.

With the wet Summer the course is it's best shape ever!

Superb mature course set in woodland. Unforgiving tree lined fairways with newly placed bunkers. Greens are phenomenal all year round. Tight off the fairways and very tough from the 2nd cut but you'll enjoy it all no matter what you score.

Fantastic layout through public land, dog walkers can be a pain but what do you want for £18.70? Greens are out of this world for a public course, better than some i have played in resorts abroad. Front nine is interesting with a (unfortunatly) boring 5th which is the long par 5. Back nine are superb, tree lined fairways, par 3's all shielded buy bunkers short and dense woodland long left and right. Who ever maintains the course is now doing quite a lot of work to improve the bunkers with lots of new banking.

Aside from the 5th this is how all golf courses should be. Beautifull mature treelined fairways, well positioned greens and tees. Nothing comes close to playing this on a sunny evening. Poor booking system and no clubhouse lets it down. Still a contender surely for best pay and play in Essex.
