This is my second review and its still poor.Sort the greens out greenkeeper cause they are far to long.Someone said to me they are growing the greens because they dont want the sun to burn them, doh,we have just had the wettest july on record.DOESNT MAKE SENSE.Play rayleigh its much nicer

This is my local and what a shocker it now is.The fairways are like the semi~rough, the greens was really slow and some was patchy and the tee boxes was really long aswell. Also its now 25 pound a round, what a rip off.I would rate this the worst condition i have seen it for 10 years

Old established golf course tight back nine and a mixture of short and long holes, great condition and great value for money. Good cafe with good food.

The famous Harry Colt (4 August 1869 – 21 November 1951) was the designer and architect of the back 9 at Belfair’s GC and it really shows. The front 9 can be a challenge but the back 9 is a great deal more difficult with emphasis on keeping the ball straight off the tee. Superb course and a real gem. Well worth playing.

good course, greens quite slow but it is a public course.
the only trouble is the dog walkers, the joggers, the bike riders, the horse riders and people walking along the fairways was a right pain in the arris.
good value for money and our four ball got round in under 4 hours, not bad for the weekend

Belfairs is a council run course that plays very well as long as you keep it straight off the tee as most of the holes cut through the woods, especially the back 9! Can get quite busy but it is worth playing!

The course is testing on the back 9 due to narrow fairways and lots of trees. I enjoyed the challenge and had a good round. The leaves and acorns etc become a big problem at the end of autum so would say its more of a summer course but I would go back again

Not nearly as bad as people make out

We've played here a few times now. Initially we had reservations. My mate more than me. The dogs on the course got him down a bit. Doesnt bother me at all. And he now agrees with me. All the bad reviews meant I was expecting something virtually unplayable. The greens are perfectly fine. Some of the fairways are long in places but everytime I've played I've seen them out maintaining it. And there are some interesting holes. Especially with some of the tighter holes with the trees surrounding it. For a public course I would say its worth a visit for sure. Personally I would rather play there for £18 than pay £40 to play where the members are all up themselves.

This is an old public golf course, although it's not very long because of the lay out you have to play for position as a lot of the course is in woodland. We were surprised how good the condition of the greens were but they needed cutting as they were very slow. This course is outstanding value for money. I played this course in the middle of May.

Tricky gem

Tight opening hole with double O.B, and what looked to be an easy course would bite you if you were wayward. Map your way around, driver on a few of these holes really isn't the best option.
Last comment really comes into play on the last 5 holes, be warned!
Cracker of a course, will be back again

For a municipal course, there are few better maintained. Stay out of the rough on the front nine and out of the trees on the back nine and you should have a very satisfying round.
