What the club says: Boasting one of the World’s oldest Grade I listed clubhouses, the original building dates back to 1483, and was once the family home of Anne Boleyn (Queen of England 1533 to 1536).
In 1924 the 100-acre course was re-designed by James Braid, the famous designer of Carnoustie, Royal Troon, & Gleneagles, and still today the course retains many of the typical James Braid features.

Super setting
The course is in great condition particularly the greens. It's a really nice setting with a historic building as the clubhouse and a working church situated within the course. There are some challenging and tricky holes. I love the 18th hole. The staff and members are so friendly.Reviewer Rating

Great course
Well worth a visit - not a long course but in excellent condition. Greens not easy and very fast. Lot of par 4's and quite tight fairways. Very well maintained(Round played: Oct 2021 - Score: 92 Handicap: 13.5)

A beautiful course
Without doubt one of the prettiest courses I've ever played. Very well maintained, the greens are quick and true. The fairways are narrow and the rough can be punishing. But I can't wait to go back and play it again. The clubhouse is Grade One listed (Once the home of Anne Boleyn) and has a charm all of it's own. Even the presence of Southend Airport (the 16th green / 17th tee are right at the end of the runway, so you can stand a watch planes preparing for take-off) can't detract from a great days golf. The service we received was brilliant and the food was plentiful and tasty,

Rochford Hundred..the first time
Even though this is my most local course, it is the first time I have played it. A hot sunny day on reasonable greens and slightly parched although wet fairways (deluge of rain in the morning) . Enjoyable course, challenging and a good atmosphere in the clubhouse...Really enjoyed it(Round played: Jul 2018 - Score: 101 Handicap: 19.7)

Played this course in very windy conditions on a open day for prtential members, it was a very well drained course, well looked after with a very traditional feel to the club. We were very well looked after with a very friendly ambience. There are a number of holes that you need to plot your way round, good golf club.
