Nice driving range and good practice green which are both near the first tee. The course is in good condition, the tees are green and smooth. The fairways have a reasonable layer of grass, the trees give the holes good definition and a lot of the rough has been cut back (no doubt to speed up play) The greens were a bit damp (not sure if this was due to watering or overnight rain) but the greens were consistent and a nice pace. There were a few spike marks but not many pitch marks. The course has a good par five start and finish. The 8th is a dog leg par 3 as the trees impinge the tee shot from the back of the tee. The clubhouse feels more like a motorway service station than golf club.

Not bad for a pay and play public course. It is a forgiving course so suits players with a higher handicap like myself!

After the first couple of holes you could perhaps be forgiven for thinking that you're not going to enjoy Little Hay. You've played your first two holes around the driving range, and the fairways have a fair few yellow range balls on them. However, it does get better, and you will enjoy a lot of what the course has to offer.

The downhill par 3 fourth is very scenic, but as you make your way down to the green, be aware that there is a stiff climb back up the hill to the 5th. Apart from those two holes the course is generally easy walking, although far from flat.

The fairways are pretty wide, and the course is probably best suited for mid to high handicap players, but with 4 sets of tees it can suit most everyone. The greens were good, and if I lived nearer than I do then I'd certainly go back for another go.
