Poor. Has been for years.
Played May 2025. Greens were abysmal and have been for some time. Balls blasted out of the range littler the first two fairways. If you play yellow balls you might not find your ball in amongst the range balls. Pity as it's a fun layout. Avoid.Reviewer Rating

Never play Little Hay

Played here many times this was by far the worst I've seen the course , greens awful , No sand in bunkers more stones than sand. Also poor standard of dress code allowed , sharing clubs in other groups , Bar closed at 7 . The list goes on

A good layout in really poor condition. Become expensive for what it is. New clubhouse OK, but course needs serious attention. Avoid until 2013 at least, better public course options around.

Needs a lot of work
All tees were off temporary astroturf matsThey were not level
Sometimes the ball was below your feet sometimes the ball was above your feet
The greens has weeds growing on them it would of been easier to chip on the greens than putt
And they wanted ?30 to play 18 holes

Very tired course
This is a perfect example of a pay and play course that has too many people playing it. The greens were in a dreadful condition, very slow and very bumpy. Didnt matter how well you hit the ball, the greens made it a waste of time.(Round played: Sep 2020 - Score: 95 Handicap: 19.3)

The Greens were dreadful with large bald patches in abundance on most greens. The bunkers are ok but watch out for stones. Most tee boxes are ok but a couple were liberally dosed with sand - remarkable given that winter tees are used until the end of March. Some interesting holes with tightly cut fairways and sensible depths of rough. Nice clubhouse and polite staff.

Don't turn up expecting a challenging quality golf course in fantastic condition. Standing on the first tee, with the grass in the tee box almost as long as the rough at other courses, I did fear the worst.
However, after we were allowed to play through a group of hackers on the 2nd, I must admit that the course grew on me. It does what it says on the tin - it is a public pay and play course so expect the usual array of unrepaired divots and pitchmarks, and the bunkers are not kept particularly well.
Hole 3 was absolutely great, as was hole 4. There are several other decent holes and I found that the greens slowly improved throughout the course, for some reason. The course is generally very forgiving so it gives you the chance to practice some shots - although the rough is punishing.
We played on a Sunday morning for £25 - and overall can't have too many complaints. Won't be rushing back as I don't exactly live next door but for a casual game with friends it is a decent course - as long as it isn't too busy.

The clubhouse burnt down so the facilties rating is a bit harsh. The course is ok and pretty cheap. It is a public course so upkeep is generally lacking. The single worst feature in summer is the rough. The rough starts 10 yards off the fairway and anything in the rough is lost. Frankly, that just makes play slow and not much fun for an average golfer.

Fair value for money. 18 holes £12. Unfortunately some of the greens are in a bad condition. LittleHay always seems to have problems with it's greens. At the time of playing there were noticeable gaps in between the turf on the greens. For a public course it is in good all round condition and enjoyable to play. Although when I played the club house did not seem interested in seperating a 5 ball that was holding up everyones play!!

Whilst not the longest, or in the best condition (doing alot of work on tees and greens) you cannot say this isn't value for money. A generous course, which when the greens have been repaired, will be a better course. Not bad for £12! A fairly easy test, good for tuning your game.
