Fabulous

Really good course. Brilliantly caved out of the surroundings. Don't miss the fairway because there's plenty of trouble just off it. Greens are superb. A course with no bunkers but plenty of swails with tough rough, and sometimes gorse, in them.
Excellent clubhouse and a really warm welcome.

Top 100

No bunkers, plenty of danger though, keep it straight and accept the mounds and contours will throw it left or right at times.
Avoid the gorse and bracken, tees fairways and fast contoured greens make it a real test of golf with the course in excellent condition.

One to play again now I know where I am going....

Beautiful and challenging

Discovered by accident but definitely one id play again. Despite the recent bad weather the fairways were in good condition and the greens were in fantastic condition.

A very challenging course.
It requires accuracy as once you are off the fairway you are in deep trouble.

Tricky course

The lack of bunkers is more than offset by the rough ground slightly off the fairways and around the greens. Our group of 18 had a 40 point score and three 36 point scores so perhaps others would see the course differently!

Hidden Gem and no bunkers

Lovely course with very few flat lies. Forgiving in width of fairways but stray and there are plenty of gorse bushes to punish you. Green for January were fast and true though faster this morning due to the frost. Some reasonably long carries off the tee, especially the 8th and 9th which also plays across a road. Great course, would very much love to visit again someday. I must admit that it was free today as buddy won a 4-ball in raffle!!

Fantastic course and I would definitely recommend

A challenging course where laying up is in important but greens and fairways are in great condition.

Berkhamsted is deservedly one of the best courses in Hertfordshire. Despite having no bunkers as a unique feature, it is not an easy course. Gorse and heather are also a great feature that differentiate the course from others in the county.

Course in good condition. Take care if you go off the fairway because it's easy to lose your ball.

Fantastic course with some really tricky holes. Lot like a lynx course the way its set up. Lots of coarse bushes, thick rough at points, some holes play really long into the wind. A good test for any evel golfer. If you are straight off the tee you will score well. Greens are really receptive and in pristine condition. If you havent played it before my top tip would be to buy a coarse guide. I played 36 holes here and having never played there before I played the afternoon 18 completly different to how I played the morning 18 which reflected in my score, 23 pts morning, 33 in afternoon with 2 blobs....

Great heathland course. Picturesque and quiet except for birds singing. No sand bunkers but the heather, gorse and banks protecting the greens offer an equivalent challenge. Didn't play well but still thoroughly enjoyed my round and am looking forward to returning to do the course justice. Club house is well situated for views and with a good atmosphere and changing facilities.

A good course in great condition at the time of year. I can imagine that the course will be fantastic in the summer. All the holes on the course were structured well and some strategic shots were required. A friendly atmosphere also in the clubhouse.
