Course in good condition because it drains well on a sandy sub base.
Greens reasonable for winter. Conditions the most benign, should have scored better!
Good course to play around here in winter though cost a bit steep at £20 per round.

the first four or five holes are excellent but after that the course gets a little boring.
there is one hole in particular where you have to hit over a quad bike centre on your tee shot. its very dangerous and I'm surprised no one has been injured. its only a matter of time and something the club must address immediately.

At the moment 2 holes (15 / 16 ) on the back nine are under massive reconstruction. They are still marked as being par 4's but #15 plays as a short par 3 in distance. Holes 10 & 17 are a bit confusing from the tee position. They are adjacent to one another but they cross each other. There is no map on the score card so this can lead to mistakes on these 2 holes when playing the tee shots.

Excellent value for money

We played here early July 2022. The course is a very solid and enjoyable one and the greens were in impeccable condition. At £30 it represents superb value for money. The welcome from the pro was friendly and he gave us some great advice. In terms of holes it's always nice to start with a driveable par 4. The fourth hole was a great hole, playing back towards the castle wall. The fifth hole might benefit from a sign saying 'Just hit an iron!' The course was quiet when we visited but I think some of the drives might feel a bit tight if there were a lot of other golfers around with you hitting over green etc. Also the hole in the very far corner, maybe #13 or #14 or something, with the water to the right of the green could have some of those fake birds of prey you have on some courses to stop the wildfowl spoiling the green and surrounding areas. Overall though a highly enjoyable day out and somewhere I'd definitely play again
