Unfriendly and unprofessional
We had booked online £25 each for a round. We go into the club shop, the guy behind the counter has absolutely no interest in us. He carries on working. He then shouts over, only 11 holes open and you can’t play on the fairways, give me a tenner each. Let me get something straight. Leasowe you should have contacted us and told us the situation. That way we wouldn’t have travelled in the first place. Unprofessional to say the least. Also you keep sending me emails with regards to your so called amazing winter membership offer. Are yous having a laugh? Your simply enticing people into a winter membership knowing fine well they will never get a decent round of golf. Shame on you leasoweReviewer Rating

Course with problems
a good late afternoon golf on yet another hot day, the course seems to have irrigation issue at the worste possible time with the course staff trying the hardest to resolve.hope the course can recover quickly unusuable long dry hot period does not helpn
Some directionalsignage would not go a miss, a little confusing for a visitor were the 10 an 17th cross over and location of some other tees not clearly marked, but saying that the club was very accomadating

Pro shop
Course is great even though we have had poor weather, greens are excellent for time of year. My main issue is with pro shop.I arrived at the course believing our tee time was 30 minutes earlier then it was so I thought I would have some breakfast upstairs in the clubhouse but I had already gotten my clubs out the car ready to play, next to the club shop (6ft away from its door) is a lockable trolley storage station. I asked if I could use this only to be told no and that I could leave my clubs outside on the pavement, given I've got an expensive golf kit this is a ridiculous suggestion because the clubs are not remotely in line of sight from the food area.
So instead I chose to go in the practice cages but they were taped up and in a state of disrepair (for me every club should have these facilities at a minimum to warm up and they are next to nothing to construct), this meant I was instead on the putting green for 45 minutes.
After the round we decided to have a coffee and some food so again asked if we could store our clubs in the CLUB STORAGE AREA only to be told we would have to pay a fee to do so, this for me is a disgrace given we are visiting patrons and smacks of either snobishness towards non members or just poor management given I'd have spent £20+ on food/drink but have left and taken my business elsewhere.

Good service from the pro who is always helpfully. (did give the society a free 8 ball voucher for the poor catering and also apologised for catering and reassured us it won't happen again when we return).
Food is very poor. We were served under cooked bacon for start of the day and the chef didn't start till 9:20 considering that we told them we would arrive at 9am for the breakfast.
Food after the golf was bristly and cold (chips, veg with beef and mushroom pie). Chef had food ready at 3pm even though the first tee was 10:30 and only 4 of the 24 golfers were finished. When told waitress food was cold. She offered me a new one and when I refused she asked me why I didn't want a new one or anything else . She then became defensive with me because I because I replied to her that the food was disgusting and I didn't want anything else (by the way wasn't rude to her). She then complained about me to the members of the club behind my back not realising a member of a society could hear her (Not professional).

Greens reasonable for winter. Conditions the most benign, should have scored better!
Good course to play around here in winter though cost a bit steep at £20 per round.

the first four or five holes are excellent but after that the course gets a little boring.
there is one hole in particular where you have to hit over a quad bike centre on your tee shot. its very dangerous and I'm surprised no one has been injured. its only a matter of time and something the club must address immediately.

Excellent value for money
We played here early July 2022. The course is a very solid and enjoyable one and the greens were in impeccable condition. At £30 it represents superb value for money. The welcome from the pro was friendly and he gave us some great advice. In terms of holes it's always nice to start with a driveable par 4. The fourth hole was a great hole, playing back towards the castle wall. The fifth hole might benefit from a sign saying 'Just hit an iron!'
The course was quiet when we visited but I think some of the drives might feel a bit tight if there were a lot of other golfers around with you hitting over green etc. Also the hole in the very far corner, maybe #13 or #14 or something, with the water to the right of the green could have some of those fake birds of prey you have on some courses to stop the wildfowl spoiling the green and surrounding areas. Overall though a highly enjoyable day out and somewhere I'd definitely play againReviewer Rating
