I agree with the previous reviewers I\'m afraid. I\'ve just played here for the first time since last summer and was stunned at the condition of the course. Absolutely dreadful greens and the areas surrounding most of those greens are in a woeful state - where there is grass it is uneven and patchy, but there are lots of muddy or sandy lies. And the club have taken no steps whatsoever to protect those areas, so recovery will be slow, whilst other courses in the local area are already reaping the benefits of closing when the winter weather was at its worst.\\There has been an improvement in the menu in the clubhouse menu, but whilst the costs in some respects are slightly more reasonable, there are still many items on sale at eye watering prices. One example are the flapjacks in the shop which are THREE TIMES more expensive than in my local newsagent.\\All in all, this place is going downhill fast. Very poor value for money.

Too punishing

Has returned to the bad old days with its ludicrous second cut of rough meaning that in dry, windy conditions, this course is virtually unplayable for the average handicap golfer.

Great layout, let down badly by the condition of the bunkers, which are full of stones and hard packed. Ignore the reviewer who refers to new eco bunkers - to date, only one has been restructured. The tees are a mess, but let’s return to the rough. To the right of the 12th hole, there is a narrow first cut giving way to a second cut which is now CHEST high. Seriously. Other holes have a second cut which is knee high and extremely thick. It’s totally unnecessary and sucks the enjoyment out of rounds when you see a drive land in the fairway and take a links style bounce into the jungle, never to be seen again.

With investment and sensible greenkeeping this place could be first rate. Alas, it’s starved of cash and set up by low single figure golfers for low single figure golfers.

Going downhill fast

Rapidly starting to look very scruffy. The clubhouse is very smart, but it seems this is where the investment has been. The course looks a mess - scruffy tees, bunkers full of stones, fairways patchy and the greens bone hard and full of holes from maintenance which have not recovered. In desperate need of investment.

During the wet winter surrounding clubs have closed so as to protect the courses. Not Kilworth Springs. Some will tell you it's testament to the well drained layout. Alas, it seems that the owners have seen the wet weather as an opportunity to capitalise on other courses closing because Kilworth has been overplayed to such an extent that it's now in dreadful condition.

Tee to green this course is currently in the worst condition of any I have played in 30 years, and yet visitors are still being charged an absolute premium to come here, both on and off the course.

It will take months to recover. Don't bother visiting until June at least.

Shows much potential, but was looking tied and unloved. Back nine was a bit crammed in and could have used a bit more land.

A fun round with friends

Played at Kilworth with two work colleagues - we are all retired now. A warm dry day, the course is a little exposed so the brisk breeze impacted on some shots.

The tees were a little rough but some were being reseeded. The greens were OK having recently been tined and on the slow side.

It was a fun day out with friends, some good golf from all of us at times.

Half round

First time I have walked off of course. Purely because of the weather, by the 10th. Looking at the 18th green it was apparent that, that amount of rain was going to have a serious impact on the game and not make it fun. Other than that everything was fantastic, even the surprise of reduced green fee when we arrived at the course (always a bonus on the weekend)

Good course layout. The course isn't in the best condition, tee areas and fairways are very patchy, but the greens are in very good condition. We stayed for a bite to eat after our round, the food was very nice and not over priced. I would recommend, especially in the winter as the course plays very well throughout the winter months.

Good Value

First trip to this course. Overall we all thought it was okay and about right at £25. The bar was nice and we had good food before we played. The course was in okay condition, except the tee boxes which were mud and sand, probably due to this summers weather. The course is quite open and we found it fairly interesting and fairly easy. The back nine has water around, but really only comes into play on 3 holes.

I'm a member since Oct 16. Very good value for money. Fairways and greens generally in good condition though spoiled by too many selfish golfers not replacing divots or repairing pitch marks. Tees quite muddy probably due to overuse re course being fully open throughout the winter. A good challenge with 2 very different half's. Scored 86 gross off 16
