Never played before but want an excellent surprise. Lovely welcoming bustling club that is also under going a few clubhouse updates which is great to see.The course is very much a course of 2 halves. The front 9 is pleasing on the eye and presents what looks like a fairly easy set of holes but don't be fooled with the tight fairways and rough you can easily be misled. The holes are varied with some nice undulation given parts of the course were previously quarried but this doesn't cause undulation in your stance given the clever design layout, the 6th is a lovely par 3 downhill.
The back 9 changes slightly with the introduction of water on several of the holes. Again you are presented with well manicured holes, greens in excellent condition and the added addition to the thought process of the water. The 18th finishes with another nice par 3 playing over water.
Kilworth Springs is a lovely friendly course and definitely worth visiting, the only negative comment I could make is that the bunkers (I only went in 2), seemed to be lacking sand and did have a few stones. This however is something I would imagine they will be maintaining over the season ahead and it wouldn't stop be going back in fact I wouldn't hesitate to play again!

Brutal
Sadly, Kilworth Springs has again totally lost the plot with the rough, this now seemingly a complaint after any warm and wet spring. My second visit this year and, whilst the course is in good shape tee to green, the fairways are now ludicrously narrow in places, the first cut about 2.5 to 3 inches deep, so long enough to lose balls in, and beyond that it’s invariably knee high and very, very thick. The greens are not as good as they could be, still appearing to have scarring from the last round of maintenance. As a consequence they are on the slow side and running far from true. And the bunkers remain very poor.
I really don’t know what they are trying to achieve here. There is no need for a set up to be this brutal for a course to be a test. Kilworth Springs is a test, just not a fair one.

Beautiful golf course
A very pretty and open course set in lovely Avon valley of south Leicestershire. This is a course which allows for risk and reward out of bounds left on the 1st to ponds and other ob areas to avoid later on. A truly enjoyable place with a signature downhill par 3 at the 6th hole. Staff and members were friendly and the food I had was tasty and enjoyable. have played a few times and will visit again if they have me again lol.Reviewer Rating

Varied and well-drained
It's my home course. It's varied, well-drained and not too difficult for a high handicapper. It's a very open course, so wind, weather & the regularly changed pin positions make it a very varied golfing experience. Communication from the club to its members has been very good and the owners are making some serious investments i.e. new buggies, improved practice facilities and a completely re-vamped driving range which will feature TopTracer. It's also cracking value for money (and currently has no vacancies for new members!)Reviewer Rating

A fun round with friends
Played at Kilworth with two work colleagues - we are all retired now. A warm dry day, the course is a little exposed so the brisk breeze impacted on some shots. The tees were a little rough but some were being reseeded. The greens were OK having recently been tined and on the slow side.
It was a fun day out with friends, some good golf from all of us at times.

It's growing on me
Links style course with driving range, poor quality balls, chipping and putting greens with bunker no pitching/short game area. The course was in excellent condition but greens needed another few weeks growth to putt nicely. so a bit bobbly and offered no confidence.
Fairway excellent, bunkers are a let down very compacted and hard panned.
nice layout and always a tough 1/2 club wind in either direction
First team match: food was excellent can't fault the lamb shank.

Really nice course.Seems to be a very busy course also which is always a good sign.
The fairways in places are quite tight lined with fairly thick rough so straightness off the tee is a must. With it not being the longest of courses even hitting an iron should still give you some kind of a shot into the greens.
The greens themselves are in great condition and running true and fairly fast.
On the back 9 water comes into play on a few holes but nothing that should trouble you too much.

Pitiful
A lot of golf courses have suffered this year owing to the dry weather, but Kilworth Springs is in a pitiful state. The greens are pretty good, it must be said, but the fairways are dreadful. There is absolutely no definition between fairway and first cut on any hole, with every fairway having patchy growth, in many places as much as half an inch in depth. I have played a lot of courses this year, all having experienced the same problems with lack of rainfall, and this one is in the worst condition by a country mile. Just awful.Reviewer Rating

Snail’s pace of play
Played a couple of times here this year and, whilst the course is in pretty good nick given the lack of rain, the pace of play is ludicrously slow.My partner and I tend to play early if we can, and when we visited a few weeks ago, despite starting at 7.30am midweek, it still took us the best part of 4 1/2 hours to get round as a 2-ball. The pace of play in front was just mind numbingly slow, a member telling us that this is often down to people playing early who haven’t booked tee times.
We thought we’d give it another chance yesterday and played late afternoon. We walked off after 4 holes, having been out an hour and twenty minutes. From the 2nd hole there were two groups waiting on the tee ahead of us.
This place always used to have a reputation for excruciatingly slow play. It seems old habits are back.

Fantastic winter course
After very heavy rain this course is alway a pleasure to play. A quality open course fast greens long fairways. But open to the wind due to the fact the course is positioned on top of a hill. Always a good test.Reviewer Rating
