The title says it all. Never had such a slow round, gave up after 9 as we were losing the will to live! Played here many times and usually enjoy the course but we won’t be back. Hoebridge is just a huge money making operation these days, not a golf club. When we requested a marshal come out to move things along he just shrugged and said there was nothing he could do and simply said ‘this is what happens when you load the course up with this many people’.Reviewer Rating

Awful course, groups in front had never hit a golf ball before. Broken tees all over tee boxes, fairways like rugby pitch, new bunkers being installed when they can’t even look after the ones already there, greens like memory foam .

Hoebridge is normally a good course but the greens were so soft the ball just plugged. Its been pretty wet lately but i have never seen them like this so obviously have a drainage problem

Play ground
I visited Hoebridge on Wednesday it was more a children play ground than where someone would go and play golf I thinking of becoming a member not no more I shall look some else where's no footie golf and adventure golf.Reviewer Rating

Works to the car park significantly restrict parking and there are no notices out apologising for the inconvenience caused. Traffic Marshall should have been engaged to manage the parking and assist with safe access routes.

Sold the soul of golf
Hoebridge is now just a circus, crazy golf buzzing away on the left, beyond that the football golf takes precedence over the golf on the par 3, the main course was full of teenage four balls hacking the ball all over the place and the shouting was off putting. the bar is tired and mirrors the course, the bar and patio is full of people in football shorts and back to front baseball caps, and they look down on the golfers!!! and the prices are high, sorry thats me done at Hoebridge(Round played: Jul 2017 - Score: 96 Handicap: 12.1)

The fairways are very parched and bare. They will take many weeks to recover and are mainly composed of hard muddy patches. A disgrace.

The course its self is really nice, the greens are good and consistent. However the wait between each hole is so long it just leaves you feeling annoyed. Every hole we were stuck behind either the group or 2 groups in front of us. Would only recommend this course to people who have a spare 6 hours for a round.

Absolutely shocking the way we must pay £ 36 to play golf and not been made aware of the issues with greens, all they need to do is tell us the condition of the greens before we pay or at;least offer some ££ off green fee as what we played on is not even worth £ 20, and its such a great club and course GET IT SORTED !!

Too slow. Some lovely holes
Far too slow a round. Luckily we were allowed to start on time, otherwise that was subject to a delay too. We would have not been able to finish otherwise due to daylight, even though starting at 1.30pm!Greens are mixed. Seems they are overused given the huge amount of footfall which makes them frustratingly patchy and bobble.
Fairways were decent and dry but a lot of u repaired divot marks can be seen.
The course has some lovely holes, especially on the back 9. Hope the course is able to improve. The more it keeps being used, I feel it may struggle to be able to recover, given the hotter summers year on year.
Allow enough time to park your car. It takes 5-10mims to find a free slot!

Greens reasonable. Fairways and bunkers very poor. Clearly in need of investment in irrigation for fairways. Has a reservoir but no water in it. Bunkers atrocious. Could be good.

Quite expensive for a course that looks a bit tired. There are some works going on to some of the tee boxes, but overall a bit disappointing.

Hoebridge is a great golf centre. Both courses are very well maintained and offer walks/rides around some beautiful countryside.
The Hoebridge 9 hole course is great. The 18, although gorgeous, is often plagued by serious slow play (weekends is when I've experienced it), with queues between 2 or 4 parties the norm at the tees all the way around. I'm not sure on whether the reason this happens is related to public course players not knowing about playing faster golfers thru or related to the odd placement or lack of clear-play bells delaying those behind; but I've experienced two 5+ hour rounds while in buggies this summer, both at Hoebridge.

Decent layout but so slow
Played in October, tee boxes decent, greens very bobbly, and fairways need to significantly recover from the summer dry weather. Main issue was the pace of play. We had 4 groups of 2 balls in front of us (Ladies comp), and our 3 ball were constantly held up. 4hr 45mins round of golf.Reviewer Rating

Nice course but poor support
Usually easy to find a tee time. Course is reasonable. Sadly the services offered around it are poor. If you ring for set of LH rental clubs at any half-decent golf club, you don’t expect to be told that ‘we don’t have a good set but can make one up from old range clubs’. Poor.Reviewer Rating

Probably did not play it at its best.
Played on the hottest day of the year so far. Tess and greens in good condition considering the hot weather.However no fault of the course the fairways gave some odd bounces and playing approach shots to the green were interesting.
Must admit I got the pace of the greens correct and putted very well. Saved the round up to a point!
Nice variety of holes and the Golf Shake course review is very fair.
Very good pro shop.
Bacon sandwich was OK had better.
Real gripe the ‘background’ music was intrusive in the club house. Seemed more suited to a rave than a golf club! It may be piped into the gym and other parts of the complex. Not designed to keep me in the clubhouse any longer than necessary!!!!
Good practice facilities.
Maybe will play it again either early or late in the year when it is a bit greener!
