Never again!

Waited on almost every hole and fairway as they have packed too many people on in 8 minute slots which is no where near long enough for a 4 ball to get through a hole. A lot of the tee boxes were in bad condition and also parts of some of the greens. I also damaged a club from a huge rock in an unmaintained bunker. All of our 4 ball have voewd never to go back.

Could be a nice course

The greens after a severely wet and cold winter plus having to cope with the Covid lockdown for 3 months, has wrecked havoc on the greens and bunkers! The greens should have been left to grow more, as they are now very bald, bumpy and splotchy. The ball can't hold it's line.
The sloping greens are treacherous!

This course is usually in very good condition, but first game back after lockdown I was so disappointed. The greens were the worst I have seen them for a long time, the ball just bobbled all over the place and made it a lottery whether a put went in or not, the fairways weren't much better, playing there again today and hoping for vast improvement.

Good value

Good value for a council course. Good greens and a challenge to all. I would recommend for all abilities.

Terrible

Paid £35 to play here... in golfing terms, that’s higher than average for a public parkland golf course. This course has so much potential, however the course is in AWFUL condition.
Tee boxes have been left to dry out and are just big areas of dirt with no grass on them.
Absolutely no excuse but poor maintenance.

Fairways were overgrown and patchy.
Bunkers had no sand in whatsoever... in fact I played out of two green side bunkers and ended up hitting a rock and practically destroying the sole of me vokey wedge.

Greens have also been left to dry out and have had no water on them whatsoever. Good tee shots are not rewarded by softer greens. It was like playing onto marble.

Everyone in my 4 ball said they would never play High Elms again EVER!

That’s how bad the course is.
And as I said before... it’s a shame, because with a little tlc, it could be amazing.

deceptively difficult

challenging par 4's make or break your score. Sloping greens require accurate placement.

Good test

Old fashioned non descript clubhouse but serving decent sandwich for breakfast and good coffee. Tee boxes are shot and fairways are tired through over use. Greens are good and the best part of the round. Bunkers are shocking as lacking in sand and poorly maintained.

Slow greens

Course in reasonable condition, some tee boxes very poor and the greens need a good cut as they were fluffy and slow
