Course in great condition considering the rain we've had and preparing well for Easter comps. Beautiful day helped for an overall decent round, flying start poor middle backend recovery. Good day. Good course.

Course was recovering from storm Doris, so there were some wet areas. The greens were in excellent condition, however there were fair few winter tees and a shame to finish 18 on a temp green. Would love to play it in the summer. The service and welcome was excellent and was a lovely club house.

We usually play this course during the summer months in scheduled open competitions.I made arrangements with the pro to visit on the 30/12/16.We were made aware of the winter set up of the course & accepted that different tees were in play.Our course adopts a fairway mats policy so it was great to play the ball as it lay without a temporary green in sight!The greens had been worked upon but still ran quick and true.
We enjoyed the day & the welcome received from all of the staff. Will be booking in to your club again soon.

First time I've played Hesketh but will definitely go again , superb course and set up and in great condition , a bargain at £35 including soup and sandwiches !

Course in very good condition, tees, fairways, greens all superb.
Clubhouse, staff and members all very welcoming. Pity about my golf!

Very very disappointing.
Firstly, this is not a links course despite being listed as such in the excellent "true links" by campbell and pepper, at most 7 holes may try to lay claim to that, but barely in my view. It is basically marshland and as such gets flooded. When I played, 4 holes where closed and another 4 were totally submerged on the fairway. I played 4 extra holes to try to get a score.
What really annoyed me though was this is one of the most unfriendly clubs I've ever visited. The guy in the pro-shop was ok, but of the 6 other people I saw and greeted with a "good morning", 5 ignored me and 1 grunted. The only conversation was when I was getting changed - necessary as the only pair of trousers I had were now covered in mud after wading through the marsh - I was told that I couldn't enter the clubhouse in jeans (albit smart ones). I was glad to head out for my 300 mile drive back home, knowing I wouldn't return. If you're in the area try one of the many excellent "true links" courses in the immediate area, all of which are also much more friendly.
To be fair I got a reduced green fee, but I'd have prefered to pay full rate and meet friendly people.
