What the club says: Established in 1885, The Hesketh is the oldest club in Southport and is regularly chosen for Final Qualifying when The Open arrives across town at Royal Birkdale. Part links and part parkland, the distinctive challenge of the course is that half of the holes meander through tall sand dunes, while the other half border the Ribble estuary. Some of the best holes lie between the sandhills and the clubhouse, particularly the 18th, an impressive, lengthy finishing hole.

Took advantage of a Winter offer. £30 for round followed by soup and sandwich. Course was in great nick, last 2 holes closed for development but rest looking great.

Played the end of Sept and a great course, very different in parts. Parkland for the first part then gently moves into links type territory. Some fantastic holes, loads a variation, superb greens, loved it :-)
