Never played here before. Nice course in good condition. Greens were way quicker than expected. Quite flat but decent amount of variety in the course. Up and down for a few holes on the back 9 but still enjoyed that bit of the course. Nice clubhouse and good food/drink. £23 midweek greenfee was a steal. Will head back and play again in due course.

Challenging course

Plays more difficult than the SR and CR would suggest, particularly the front 9 which are as tough as any front 9 on comparable courses. Greens in good nick, fairways a bit bare in patches but overall very good.

Love the place

I play here regularly. The facilities, whilst small, are perfectly formed. The helpfulness and friendliness is excellent. The course maintains a good experience all year long, with the greens always in reasonable condition. There are a few challenging holes, but it is a very fair and honest course. All in all, I wouldn't hesitate in highly recommending Hersham Village GC

Nice front nine with some very nice holes however the back nine is very up and down course and greens need a little more talc, in my opinion.
Bar area has an enormous tv screen but I think that limits the room in the bar with people standing watching football, food was very good.

Played on 1st sept,weather good.
The course was in good condition apart from falling leaves hiding my ball, the greens are in excellent condition apart from a few pitch marks which members are too lazy to fix, fairways give you an uneven levels and undulations which I found an enjoyable challenge, there are quite a few short par 4s and only 1 short par 5 I didn't visit the bunkers so cannot comment but they did look well filled.
I was looking at joining a club near me but on the strength of this course I'm having a rethink and might well join this place instead.
Bottom line is I enjoyed it so much i might join after winter.

Lovely little course hidden away from the outside world. The front 9 is quite narrow and really tests driving accuracy to stay out of danger. The back 9 opens right up and is completely different, with a lot more room to play with and it ends up being a lot more forgiving for wayward shots off the tee. A nice looking course and certainly one to make you think when standing on the tee.
The greens were in excellent condition; pace was perfect even for a dewy morning, and they ran very true. Probably the best greens I've encountered in a long time. Club shop staff very helpful and friendly and allowed us to tee off early and pay once we had finished which was a nice touch
Can't recommend it enough

A gem of a course

I'd never played Hersham Village golf course before in spite of living locally since 2007. It took a neighbour to alert me to this little gem of a course, which has a variety of dog legs and straight fairways, most tree lined and narrow. I usually take 3 wood on all Par 4s, but here it came out of the bag on just 4 occasions, three of which had a negative tree involved outcome. It was my 3 iron, which was invariably used off the tee and at 180-195 yards, it left me anything from 3-7 iron approach shot. With narrow aprons to the greens, some with overhanging tree branches, this meant approach shots must be dead eye accurate. Greens ran true and medium fast for early October and we're in very impressive condition; clearly the members and visitors believe in repairing pitch marks. On the day, I played, I hardly saw any other players and unusually for a fast player lost ground to the single ahead. As I pitched into the 18th, light was diminishing (5.30 p.m) in spite of it being a very bright sunny day. I bogeyed the last for a 5, but came off with a score of 75, 8 over par, which was most pleasing for an inaugural round at Hersham. Thoroughly recommend this course.

Good value course

Interesting course with some quite tight opening holes before being more generous on the back 9.
Fairways had been well cut and greems run true and so in good shape considering the recent weather.
No fuss booking either and very flexible.

Course of two halves

The first 11 holes are quite challenging and interesting however the following 5 holes are a bit boring straight up and back . However bring plenty of clean ball as there is not ball cleaning equipment on the course due to continued vandalism from local youths, a great pity. The green were very fast and in good condition.

Beginning of the end..?

Played here quite a bit over the last 10+ years, and probably the worst the greens have been today. Unfortunately with the proposed housing development and likely closure of the course, I fear the club may have already started to reduce their investment in the course. Greens felt spongy with too much thatch, and fairways poorly cut in places. Such a shame for golfers locally and travelling out from South West London if this place closes. Still good value at ?27 on a Saturday lunchtime tee off. Hopefully just a blip and not the beginning of the end.

I really enjoyed the first 10 holes. Mature woodland, lots of challenges. 11-17 is ok, but a little barren. I understand it was extended from a 9 hole. Still a worthwhile round and I will go again.
