What the club says: Sandown Golf Centre is a small, friendly club in the centre of Esher in Surrey. We are uniquely positioned in the middle of Sandown Park Racecourse and boast three golf courses for all Standards of golfers. For beginners and children we have the Pitch and Putt as well as the Par 3 both of which are 9 hole. We also have a 9 hole Main Course which has a good variety Of holes including 3 par 5s. If it is just practice you are after then why not come and hit a bucket of balls of our 33 bay Floodlit driving range.

very different kind of golf course not what we would normally play but was for a Memorial Day for a friends father so could not miss and was glad we took part with the old boys.

Great little course
This is a lovely little course situated in the centre of Sandown race course. The weather wasn’t on our side but this didn’t dampen the experience, all the staff in the pro shop and in the cafe were really friendly and the driving range is great too!Reviewer Rating

Course refurbishment.

Good for beginners
Sandown is a flat course and very open. Good for beginners. Advanced players may feel the course unchallenging.(Round played: Jul 2019 - Score: 102 Handicap: 0)

Played the 9 hole Eclipse course. Artificial tee boxes were a bit bobbly but fine for what was required. Sadly the greens were not in great condition, especially considering that 2/3 of the shots should be putts! Far too bobbly and inconsistent, making putting a lottery on a few of the greens. \\Very quiet and unpressured, which allowed for a relaxed round. Nice driving range and a pleasant chance to use grass tees here for some good iron practice. Bar staff were friendly but sadly a slightly grumpy regular in the bar soured the day a bit but I’d still go back to try the proper 9 hole.

Perfect for practice

Great 9-hole course
Played during the hot period - fairways were like concrete - and course was playing very short. Greens in superb condition - slower than the fairways! Good length with 3 par 5s and a challenging far 4 with OB all down the right side!A steal at £20 for weekend green fees too.

Good value Madness Monday

Good double loop of 9 and also a great pitch and putt to sharpen the short game. Friendly club-house and great American Golf shop. Annual membership is a steal too

Overrated course, grossly overpriced.

I have played Sandown a few times. I have played the main course which has some par 5, 4 and 3 holes on it. It is a fairly flat course but does have a few hazards thrown in! The course is always on top top condition and very well maintained, the greens are some of the best I have played. Each hole is more or less straight, I personally prefer more up and downs, dog legs etc but this does not stop me from playing here. It is good for a levels of player.
Be careful not to put a ball into the race track because you won't find it! As I said the course is always in great shape. It is a lovely course. There is also a nice little par3 course and a pitch and putt course which are extremely good for practising you're short game.
The bar area is nice and the coffee is great. The shop is huge and very well staffed and stocked with all brands of gear. They have a good driving range and also have a grass tee to practise from when it's not under repair, much better then teeing off from mats!!
All in all you will have a great experience at Sandown.
