You'll have to get used to sloping fairways too, starting off with the 1st which has a huge drop from tee. Make the most of it, because you'll be climbing back up the other way soon enough!
Great course, great clubhouse, friendly welcome. What more could you ask for?

First visit to a Nice course
Despite the dreadful weather in recent weeks the course was open to buggies and trolleys and was surprisingly dry. A couple of very steep fairways (what can you expect in the Chilterns!) but mostly played along the slopes. Nice layout I very good condition, nice clubhouse, good food. Definitely worth a visitReviewer Rating

Ideal winter course
Very happy with course conditions given the flooded fields nearby. Greens expectedly slow but true. Fairways clear of mud & only worn path areas showed those signs. It’s a very hilly course which helps. As those getting away from those London Clay courses. Looking forward to going backReviewer Rating

Tough course
Played the course many times before which helps as lots of tricky holes at bottom of hills or top of them.Greens were in great condition and fast and difficult to read.My big moan is why is there tee boxes off winter mats in summer! It didn't make any sense when there was a grass tee in adequate condition.Reviewer Rating

Excellent value
Played here recently for £40 green fee.Thought it excellent value. The course was in a very good condition. Tee boxes were level and well covered. Fairways were at a nice standard and the greens were very true and quick. The course itself is on the short side, but several two/three tiered greens and well placed bunkers mean it is not easy to just blast your way around - notably on the 1st and 10th holes when driver is not needed at all. Interesting course design, lots of undulations. Handicaps ranged from 8 to 20 and all found it a good challenge.
Staff very friendly, as were the others on the course. Very welcoming and would happily return.

Do not judge this course on its yardage

Twisty and hilly
Well varied course with some interesting hills/slopes on holes. A few very short par 3s chucked in too. Course was relatively well kept(Round played: Jun 2020 - Score: 90 Handicap: 16)

Great venue, tricky course
Annual golf event, easy to organise with their excellent club staff, who fully co-operated on the day. Rain nearly caused a postponement but in the end it cleared a bit and play went ahead. Clubhouse has changed a lot under new owners, less traditional but more in keeping with modern day multi-use venue.Reviewer Rating
