average at best

a very poorly run golf course which is a shame because its a fantastic layout. came here for the first time this week and received extremely poor service both at the range beforehand and then in the proshop. staff are rude and unhelpful. the golf course is presented well considering the weather and I thoroughly enjoyed it, however I wont be going back as I refuse to give them any more of my money. weekday prices fair but weekend nowhere near £30 a round. I suggest you follow me as i will be going somewhere else in future until they change their staff setup.

Very poor

This course has great facilities and course layout but the price of ?25 on a weekend when the greens and overall course conditions are as poor as they was I wouldn't recommend playing this in the winter

There have been many changes of late. The attitude of some of the pro shop staff is very poor. The prices have gone up and the standard of the course has gone down considerably. Very sad when places like this one is privatised. The place also looks dirty and in need of decorating. The toilets smell and look dirty.

Played over here for a long time and honestly haven't seen It in worse condition than it is now. The pro shop staff are rude (barring one or two) and ignorant. The course is a fantastic layout but never seems to be in good condition. £29 a round at the weekend is scandalous and daylight robbery. Greens bobbly and not true. Holes cut at least an inch smaller than they should be. It's gone extremely downhill the past few years and I was suggest finding some where better to play your golf! The chinese is nice tho!

Four of us used up a day's holiday to play one of our local courses of which we have not played for a year because it's normally a 5 hour round and somewhat overpriced compared to other local courses.what a waste of a day the greens had been spiked and they also resembled a beach with so much sand . Trying to putt was a complete waste of time as the ball moved as soon as it hit a spike Mark or Newcastle this was truly an expensive game of crazy golf we could have played the abbotts weald park or Maryland's for the same money what a disappointment and someone could have been polite enough to warn us before we played to give us an option of going elsewhere

Played the upper course last Sunday for the first time in a few years and was very disappointed with the condition it was in, the bunkers we're unplayable and the greens we're very patchy and at £27 I thought it was extremely overpriced compared to other local courses that are in much better condition

Really nice course, some interesting holes and the greens are in good condition. Great bar as well.
Unfortunatly the place suffers from the complete scumbags that play it. Had a really slow 3 ball in front that could only hit the ball about 80 yards and just kept playing loads of extra balls and had a 3 ball standing on the tee box behind me as i was teeing off, chatting loudly, drinking lager and belching like pigs.
No marshalls around to check the standards.
Will not return.

Very dissapointed in the course, first time i have played here and without doubt the last, winter mats were in use and there was no mention of this when i booked it. The course and greens were in very poor condition and the bunkers had hardly any sand in them. It is a shame as the views are spectacular and everyone we spoke to were very friendly, the price we paid was reasonable but i would personally pay more and have a better course.

Upper Cos: Very Disapointed having played it numerous times in the early 90's I was expecting more or at least the same when I played mid Oct, but afraid to say in my opinion its gone down hill with particularly poor greens.

Very disappointed with this course. I played on the Lower Course (which is supposed to be the nicer of the two) and was shocked with the condition. About 80% of the bunkers on this course are G.U.R, with two foot high weeds growing in them. (even a few of the greens had G.U.R sections). I know it's a public course, but as a cheaper alternative in better condition I'd play at Hartswood in Brentwood instead!!!

Poor

To many long par 4 nearly got hit by 2 builders in a bugger if that’s the type of member they have no etiquette what so ever 2 of the tees were mates in
June isn’t winter . greens very marked to many pitch marks just an example off possible the type of golfer this place encourages or don’t care attitude of the people that play
