The Old course was in great nick apart from the greens which were poor, sandy and bobbly with forked holes. Facilities are very good, overall great course

Fabulous and more so in winter as its based on chalk. You could have played it in carpet slippers. Its a great society course and very forgiving to suit all levels of players.

Course in fantastic condition. Greens running true and fast. Rolling course built on chalk that drains very well.

Golfshake Team ReviewThis is supposed to be the best course in Cambridgeshire and to be honest it didnt live up to its expectations.

Dont get me wrong, it is a superb course and some of the views are amazing but I have played on better greens. If it wasnt for the fact that we paid £27.50 on a county card and not the £55 they ask a visitor I would have been even more disappointed.

For a mid-handicapper (14), the Old Course offers an intriguing but eminently playable challenge. With the wind pretty much down on an early-spring day, the course offered up a lot of straightforward par opportunities once through the opening three holes (which played 'into' what breeze there was and uphill). The 6th is a cracking par-3, as is the 13th. There are very few holes where you need to be worried about threading one off the tee - although if you can shrewdly position yourself off the tee it really helps on holes such as the par-4 3rd and the par-5 14th. The 437-yard uphill 16th is a long par-4 that will see only the bigger hitters hitting the green in two. There are one or two slightly eccentric greens, that on the par-4 11th being a case in point. But they very much add to what is a really satisfying test.

This course is very well maintained with some nice views over Cambridge countryside and a surprising roll to it for fenland. Greens are true. First 2 holes uphill are deceptively long, especially into the wind. Bunkers leave a bit to be desired - sand seems unneccesarily hard. Course facilities are excellent, staff friendly - all in all a very good experience.

Excellent value for money on the 2 for 1 vouchers, the greens were in first class condition. I recommend you take an electric trolley if you use a pull / push one, as it is a a very hilly course, as some of the holes are long and steep. You can hire electric trolleys from the pro shop (£16). We encountered very friendly menbers whilst playing.

Fantastic

I course I would happy play over and over again. In fabulous condition all holes have a challenge and no two are alike. Some fabulous views too.
Catering is excellent, all staff I encountered were friendly and helpful.
The practice area is well worth a visit for all aspects of your game.

Not too Tough

Course is very open and the elements will batter you be it wind, sun or rain. However the fairways are wide and forgiving so stray drives are not overly Beware the bunkers! They are deep, stoney and very little sand. Greens on our visit were firm and fast but a couple of them were a little bobbley.
The best part of our visit was the food.. simply outstanding
