Played Old Course. Pro Shop very helpful & friendly. Course free-draining - a plus this summer - and fairways wonderfully springy.Many holes on front 9 samey - drive to or around the 150 mark then a mid iron. Back 9 more interesting altho quite a few on both 9s are straight up and down. Pretty wide open off the tee, the wind and carefully placed bunkers being the main defences. Fairways in good nick but rough and walks from tees to fairways a little raggedy. Members on course friendly enough but not a particulalry warm welcome in the clubhouse altho decent beer and OK burger. A bit overpriced - better value on good courses close by at Haverhill or down the road at Bishops' Stortford. May go back but not in a hurry.

Course was ok, not too tough as I played very badly and scored ok. Not difficult par 3s and 2 of the 3 par 5s easily reachable in 2. Just ok but greens had recently been spiked which isn't great for a visitor to a course. Their must be an advancement in green keeping that will get rid of spiking soon enough.

This is supposed to be the best course in Cambridgeshire and to be honest it didnt live up to its expectations. Dont get me wrong, it is a superb course and some of the views are amazing but I have played on better greens. If it wasnt for the fact that we paid £27.50 on a county card and not the £55 they ask a visitor I would have been even more disappointed.

Not too Tough
Course is very open and the elements will batter you be it wind, sun or rain. However the fairways are wide and forgiving so stray drives are not overly Beware the bunkers! They are deep, stoney and very little sand. Greens on our visit were firm and fast but a couple of them were a little bobbley.The best part of our visit was the food.. simply outstanding

Wandlebury Course
Really enjoyed the layout and the condition was great. Its clearly (in my opinion) the '2nd' course with the Old being the main course.Probably slightly easier than the Old course in the sense the fairways are a bit wider and not as long.
Great course and drains well.

Lovely course
Played the Wanderley, supposed to be their second course. Really nice course. Plenty of room, but enough hazards to catch the unwary / sloppy. Greens in really good condition considering the weather. Some fabulous views when you reach the top.Hoping to go back and play the Old Course in 2018.
Excellent service in the clubhouse. Extensive practice facilities.

A great place to start of your the society season it's its based on chalk and drains very well. Buggies allowed and greens in excellent condition and just breathtaking views. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. We'll be back!
