Excellent condition great course
As usual in excellent condition, greens were quick and true. Rough is high and wispy if you get too far off the fairway but it was good(Round played: Jul 2020 - Score: 81 Handicap: 7.8)

The Golf Traveller
Played both courses in a day and was amazed by the condition for the time of year. While other courses are closed this venue has to be one of the best locations for winter golf in the country, no mud, great turf, and surprisingly quick greens. The improvements they are making to the practice facilities that are already as good as I have seen will make this an even better winter destination. The value for money of their winter deals is fantastic with a very friendly welcome and high quality foo, I can't wait for a game in the summer when I expect the greens will be even quicker.Reviewer Rating

Winter golf at it's best
2nd Jan 2020 - played the Old Course and it was magnificent. Despite recent rain the course was bone dry. The fairways were in great shape and the greens were fantastic for early January. The course is really interesting and is great fun with a real mixture of holes and some undulating greens!A warm welcome from the Pro Shop and in the bar afterwards, and all for £32 on County cards. There is no better course and setup in the area. We'll be back again in the spring! Highly recommended.

Wandlebury Gog Magog
Originally planed to play the Old Course again but advised by a staff member to play the Wandlebury as the Old Course greens were being worked on.It Was a good course layout in very good condition but I would say the Old Course is the better one. The staff in the shop and bar area were very good and welcoming.

Best courses in the region
The improvements made in the last two years at the Gog Magog golf club are substantial, returning the Old course to an open downland venue, excellent for running golf where players can enjoy the challenges of all types of shot rather than always reaching for the lob wedge and pitching on the green.Playing the course just before the famous national amateur Lagonda trophy it was in excellent condition with the greens running smooth and fast. The short holes are the pick on this course and the unusual greens at the 8th and 11th make for an interesting challenge. Since the massive clearance program that removed most of the hawthorn that chocked parts of the course the views are significantly improved as well as the health of the course caused by the improved airflow. The best comes over the closing stretch with the signature 16th offering the best vista and a chance for long hitters to show their prowess. When you reach the clubhouse don’t forget to look at the Lagonda winners board in the dining room and compare your score with previous winners and world number ones Luke Donald and Lee Westwood. Needless to say ....they beat me, but I enjoyed a great test of golf.
