Good course but avoid when busy
Good course and nice layout. Very slow today and round was 4.5 hours long. Difficult to play when so many societies are let on(Round played: Mar 2019 - Score: 83 Handicap: 6.3)

Played here 27th to 30th October in a society weekend. The food and the facilities was awesome. The course was in decent condition and the greens were flying but the 3 star review is down to slow play. We played 3 rounds all of which took 5 and a half hours. Called the pro shop to get someone out to try and speed things along, which he did. The problem seems to be tee time to close together creating back ups on the tees. A on course Marshall needs to be in place.

Good condition
Played after 4 weeks of hot weather in june/july. Considering how scorched some of the other courses are in the area, formby hall is in pretty good condition(Round played: Jul 2018 - Score: 91 Handicap: 20.6)

good challenging course
great course, tee boxes were in awful condition, as were the 'fairways' id put that down to the current weather however and intend to revisit when they have got on top of it!the greens were in great condition considering!

Led to believe the course would be better than it was. Layout was good with plenty of features ie lots of water and bunkers, and the greens weren't bed,.. but the course was in a very unkempt state. Clearly not a temporary issue though as it looks like they put very little effort into what could be and probably at one time was, a very nice course. A real shame. Would probably play again but we travelled to play it and wouldn't say it was worth the effort. We played the macdonald portal the next day and that was just vastly superior... Different league altogether and we paid less, plus got a bacon butty with tea/coffee!

1st day of Corporate Games, a pleasure to play on the course, was just a shame the club though it was acceptable to allow 4 members 4 balls to go out and play in the middle of a 140 person competition. This meant my tee time was over an hour late and the round took over 6 hours.

Formby Hall. We have played this course a number of times over the years. However it is the first time we have played in such conditions. We said in the club house after the battle with the elements. We didn't rate golf as an extreme sport. High winds, gale force > 80mph. A real challenge!
