One of the great things is that there were plenty of greenkeepers out working hard, which was non existent a year ago , all the staff were very helpful and friendly and have a great plan to carry on making this a great golf venue. The owner said he has bought new equipment and is said that he has a lot more work to do , however in my opinion the course is now back to a great standard , excited to see what happens in the future with Kent and Surrey.
The only criticism I have is that the fairways (60%) of them need a bit more cutting , so I bit more shaved off, as they were fairly long in some places and to make them different from the second cut , this would massively improve the course that extra bit more and once the bunkers are done too would make this a championship course again !!
A massive well done to the owners and greenkeepers for getting the course up and running again properly as you can see your hard work is paying off !!
Look forward to the next round with you !!

This was a lovely golf course - it is very welcoming and comfortable. The food was excellent. The course was in great condition despite recent dry weather. spoke to the green staff and they told about the work that was going on . I would definitely return.

The golf course itself is great fun with a few nice twists on holes that you think will be easy but find yourself thinking again after your tee shot. Some of the greens are a bit patchy in areas but still playable, the bunkers are very gritty not much sand but again playable. Another good thing is the holes don’t run along side each other and there are some nice views of the surrounding area.
On return to the clubhouse was made to feel very welcome again by the staff and the members who where in the clubhouse, there was no snootiness towards any of us. Plus an added bonus they do a very nice pint there too, and with the weather we had went down very nice sitting on the patio looking over the course and putting green.
After the way we was treated and the days golf we had all four of us were in agreement that will defiantly be returning to this course in the very near future.
Good job very well done to all the staff, thanks for a pleasant day,

When we arrived (2 friends and I), we had trouble finding the Pro Shop, we walked into the bar first, then the patio near the 1st tee and 18th green, finally walking to the driving range and finding the Pro Shop in there. We were welcomed by a lovely, friendly blonde haired lady, sorry I didn't get her name, paid our green fees and chatted to her for sometime. We explained that we had met a two ball resting after having finished and they had told us where to go to pay our dues, explaining the troubles in finding where to pay. (The lady did explain that we could have paid at the bar too). We chatted to the lady about some of the reviews we had read and she did say that there is a plan to build a hotel on the site, that planning permission had been granted and that some parts of the course were being 'worked on'. As we left the lady asked that we came back to tell her how we found the course, we didn't mange to do that on the day, unfortunately.
We met, we assume, the Pro and my two friends were taken by a 3 wheel trolley in the shop, they bought one each! The benefits and gadgets were explained by the Pro. Both people very friendly.
Lots of the reviews from last year now appear rather harsh, mainly reading handicap golfers running the club down, presumable after having a poor round? My friends and I agree, the first impressions, the car park, the pro shop and the club house need to be attended to but after having played the course, we will be back and soon. Ok so the car park is in need of some repair and the pro shop is a little worse for wear. We all agreed, we come to play new clubs for the course and on the whole it was a joy to play. We found the course a pretty, challenging test of our abilities. our handicaps ranged from 10 to 21, none of us scored more than 30 stableford points and all of us were caught out by the rough on more than one occasion. It was obvious as we played the course that there are some tees being created, any idea when these will be open for use? Our one slight gripe was the lack of distance from fairway to second cut to rough on some of the holes, punishing ha ha.
On the whole, taking into account the car park, pro shop, driving range, course and the friendly welcome - 3.5 out of 5.
We all realise a poor winter has made it hard for any course to work on repairs or remodelling, once the course is re worked and perhaps car park re surfaced and a few signs put up around the car park to point to where visitors should go for range tokens, pay green fees etc the course will get much better reviews from visitors.
I hope to visit the course again soon, despite all of my criticism, I want to come back and play the course again, the next time armed with a little more course knowledge and planning!
Thank you for a wonderful round of testing golf, hope to see you soon. Please tell the 'blonde lady' we left with a good feeling about the course and now know most of the online reviews were harsh, or just down right wrong
