What the club says: The setting alone is inspiration enough at Hever Castle’s 250 acre 27 hole course. Hever Castle, the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, dates back to 1270. In 1903 William Waldorf Astor acquired the Castle and gradually added to the estate. In the 1920s the Astors created a nine hole golf course for their personal enjoyment, set around the Hever Castle lake and land to the north of Hever Castle, which survived until the Second World War when it was sadly abandoned.Read our full review

St James’s Golf SocietyWe play Hever Castle every year on the Championship course and have always found the staff very friendly and facilities great. This year we had 32 players and the course was good, plenty of grass on the fairways and the greens were excellent. Some doggy pin positions, but I’m putting that down to the green keeper had a bad night sleep. Well worth the money and the drive

Championship course still needs alot of workThe tees and greens on the championship course are not very good. Found almost none of the mens tees where flat or level, either bowed or slant left or right. Greens bobble all over the place. Difficult to rely on the path when you know at any time the ball will bobble and move of line .
Pace of play is really bad. When are clubs going to learn that 8 minute tee slots are not enough time for a 3 bal or 4 ball. We had to wait at every hole from the 4th. On the 8th there was a 3 ball on green and another 3 ball waiting to tee off. That was a 10 minute wait.
Not ideal and there are much better courses in the vicinity
Super venue, super courseGreat course in great condition - holes 11-13 of the Championship course are spectacular and I\'d happily play them on repeat!!! The Princes is well worth playing too - some lovely holes. Great venue for a society.
Smallholders Golf SocietyHad a great day, shame it rained during the back nine, however no one was put off regarding the wonderful course. Greens were in excellent condition only a few tees had a number of divots which needed repairing. The marshal that day was a great help to all and especially myself when, in his buggy he went back to retrieve my wedge which was left against a tree. Many thanks to the staff, who were very helpful and friendly. We will be back! Brian Snoswell

Nice CourseNice course with very tricky greens and challenging holes.
You need to play there a few times to know where to miss best to avoid bunkers etc.

Superb championship layoutTerrific course with excellent facilities. Long testing track. Generous fairways so reasonably forgiving. Greens very good and generally quick. Pin location chart excellent and vital here! Amen corner is a very stiff challenge. The 13th particularly is very tough (too tough in my opinion!) with minimal landing area. Always great to play.

Quiet but stunning 9 holeMembers here tend to stick on the Championship course so the 9 Hole Princes course is generally quiet. Its also pretty cheap (particularly for 18 holes) - but all the holes are top class and the course is always well kept although it can get bit muddy after rain. Good course for juniors. Lots of shots over water so bring plenty of balls!
The course was set up to play for winter, yet though i was still a lovely course, will be back to play it summer where i feel it will be harder and look even better.

Beautiful setting and a good test of golfPlayed 25th October ; quite good condition although the dry summer meant that there were bare patches on some fairways. The greens were good; fair speed and true. The course was looking great as well.
A bit ropey in places but generally good test.White tees need of some TLC. Greens ok but fairways were a bit ropey inplaces

Great CourseVery nice course - sp0me tricky holes. Dry weather made conditions difficult - look forward to playing again with softer ground and some grass!

Hever Castle Golf course 18/7/18Our society has played this course many times & we always enjoy going back. Course was bone dry & fairways / most of the tees parched & brown. Greens in good condition. All the staff were very attentive & friendly. Only downside was there were no clean towels, which was ironic as there was a basket for dirty towels!
