I just love playing golf at this great course! The layout, clubhouse, and greens condition are all first-class. The staff are lovely - they make sure you have everything you need plus, the bacon rolls to die for. If you're looking for a great place to play golf, this is definitely it.

Not in the top 10 for Kent

Golfshake need to update their review.
The place is a disgrace for the price you pay. Tees out of shape and bare, I recall work done on a few tees a few years back, didn’t last long. Bunkers washed away, no drainage, balls pluging on fairways. Members are entitled claiming to have tee times when they don’t.
Greens look good but run very heavy. I played here 4 years ago and recall how the fairways were in decline , but the rate it is happening should worry the owners.
To be fair the kings course is very boring, no stand out holes, the queens is the saving grace for layout.
Poor course with decent facilities , the staff are okay. The pro shop people are not the fastest to assist. A discount should be given when the course is in the state it’s in.
All in all for the money - I would not return. Possibly only decent to play for a few months a year.
NO WAY NEAR TO A TOP 10 GOLF COURSE IN KENT.

I received a voucher to play at Hever for my birthday. I travelled from Berwick upon Tweed and the long journey was worth it. The staff in the shop could not do enough to make me feel welcome; it was a delighted to be with such people. The clubhouse served good food and the course itself was challenging in a good way. There were well situated bunkers and ponds to keep you concentrating throughout. The course was not too busy and you able to enjoy the experience in a relaxed way. We stayed at Hever Castle and we intend to return to the course and the castle next year. Thank you for making my birthday treat so special.

Played 18 holes on Princes

Princes is the third of three nines, with Kings and Queens (two other nine holes each) comprising the "Championship" Course. I play Hever once or twice a year, (and used to play much more in the late 90s) and I think Kings and Queens are great courses. They were closed for maintenance so we played 18 holes onj Princes which I haven't played for 20 years. It was in very poor condition with scruffy (bare) tee boxes, just mats on the second hole. Some bunkers were GUR but more neglected than being worked on. There are a couple of feature holes which are interesting and I thought the greens were in good condition, although pretty slow. I wouldn't play Hever again if Princes were included ; it is a good place to practice but not worth paying for.

An odd place

Great layout (especially the back 9 of Champioship) but condition is very bad - either too wet or too dry.
Members push in at tee times and course marshall is an old boozer looking for an argument. Slow play is a big issue on this course and seems to put everyone in a bad mood.
Not worth the trip.

Challenging course, suffering in the hot weather

It's not fair to judge the course by the recent weather. Hard bounces, strange kicks made it very difficult to play consistently.

Course itself has some really interesting holes and few nice easy par 3?s to break them up.

Facilities are great, well stocked pro shop, great bar and restaurant.

Brilliant in summer

At this time of year, Hever is as near perfect English golf as you can get - greens and fairways in great condition - they would get another star if only they would let us play the championship course and not just the Princes

Pretty back 9

Pretty challenging course, with some interesting holes. The back 9 was more intriguing with a lot more water in play. Recommend.
