Lovely day out ruined by ignorant players

Shocking fall from grace
Returned to Donnington Grove today for the first time in a number of years. I could have cried. It was apparent before I even parked the car that this place has fallen a long long way. The greens are the worst I have ever seen at DG, possibly even the worst in the area now!! Everything was wrong. The burnt out area by the pro shop is a microcosm of the wider area. Neglected and left to ruin, what a shame. I would love to know how such a beautiful golf course can fall in to such a state.Reviewer Rating

The course is still of championship stature,yet it looks more like a play and pay course. Greens need digging up. Bunkers need doing proffesionaly. Too many divots in the fairways. On the plus side long enough to make it a challenge. Overall not too sure this once highly rated golf course can and will ever come back to its full status. Driving range not of any standard. Practice nets ,you need a crash helmet to be able to hit the ball due to the fantastic idea of putting scaffolding pole across the back .club house looks like a holding room for the doctors. Food very poor and the cappuccino was of such bad taste I had to send it back three times.

A long walk...
An ok track with good greens, but some extremely long walks in between holes and a very slow pace of play ruined the day for me. Course suits a draw which was good for me!! If you have the option take a buggy!(Round played: Jun 2021 - Score: 88 Handicap: 10)

Course was only good value having used Golf Now Tee Time costing ?17.

after hearing so much about it i found it a bit of a let down. the greens weren't in very good condition, workman wouldn't stop to let people play through, there was no real second cut it was straight to the rough. the proshop was poor not much stock. the people where friendly enough.

A long course made even longer by the walks between front and back nines.
Gets very busy and also extremely wet under foot during the winter.
