What a course! Playing around a former stone quary with rock cliffs, chasms and split level fairways. So very windy on the day that we played, made it hard going, especially when you don't know the course layout etc. A bit too `up and down hill`for my liking, but my friend thought it was great. I felt I'd been in a battle with the course and came off second best. Staff and other golfers were friendly.

Good challenging course in the Colne Valley, with plenty of ravines to navigate to get onto the greens!

Pros and cons

A great collection of interesting holes in good condition. Nice location with great views and nice clubhouse and associated facilities. But the layout.........Really confusing and constantly aware of other games playing across your game.

Always enjoyable.

Played several times but this was the first visit when all the heather was in bloom. Purple flowers everywhere, stunning. Great course with a real variety of holes, great views too and tricky when the wind blows!

Very enjoyably course with excellent views. Not the longest course but a genuine test for all levels. Par threes are excellent as are the sub 300 yard holes where strategy is so important. Would happily return tomorrow !!

Very warm welcome in the pro shop, despite bad weather and the 'course closed' sign being displayed we were promised a round, after a coffee and a slight delay, we tee'd off. Playing in a 2-ball on a busy course with lots of members in 4-balls, it has to be said the members are a credit to their club. We played through several groups, all were welcoming and complimentary of our shots. Nice course, good greens, watch out for the quarries, make the par 3s a real challenge!

Played in Rabbits Open on a damp, cool, windy day. There had been lots of rain overnight but the course was dry, unless you were in the rough. First 4 holes go in 4 different directions and wind tends to be westerly or south westerly.
Fairways are reasonably generous but watch out for the heather (lots of it).

Some very challenging par 3s over quarries where it's all about carry and wind.
We will be bask in 2016.

Played second week in June. Knew from the off when the light rain was coming horizontal it was not going to be an easy days golf. The greens had been sanded/ top dressed so were a lot slower than on previous game. Waterproofs were on & off more frequently than a set of traffic lights. One good point you could see the rain coming from a distance so it gave you about 5 min to get your gear on. If you cant keep the ball down low when hitting your shot you could end up yards away from your intend target. If you are unfortunate in putting your ball into the old quarries you will need a good wedge shot, so have a min 56 deg wedge in your bag. The club have let the light rough grow a bit longer than usual, so hitting the fairway is a must if you want to make decent progress. Avoid the heather, go for accuracy rather than distance. If you are near here its got to be worth a visit. If the wind is up you might not be as keen to make a second visit. On a good day you will want to come back.

Lucky played this course on a lovely calm sunny day but it could be a beast on a windy day.
The par 3's are quite demanding with little margin for error. The course was in great condition and the greens were all even paced but quick.
A great challenge for all golf ears, can recommend.

Our Society played here 26/05/13, testing course in windy conditions but in fair conditions a good score is avaliable, well maintained fairways and greens fast and smooth, can understand why they do not allow buggies, some hidden shear drops. you will need to practice your flop shots, but all in all a great test, well stocked pro shop and food great, recommend to all handicaps.
