The course is very enjoyable and well laid out. It’s fairly quiet and full of character. Definitely on the easy side but as a visitor that’s no bad thing.
Condition was slightly below what I expected, still struggling from last summer, greens were decent, bunkers and tees good but fairways patchy. Friendly staff and greenkeepers give way or stay quiet when near a golfer, which is excellent and something a lot of top courses overlook. Flags are colour coded, yardages clear everywhere. Good warm up nets and short game area.
Against all that, and I’m sorry to report this, but once again and in line with others experience here, we fell victim to some very average behaviour by members. Last time, we were held up (not seriously) by a 4 ball but who then felt the need to shout down the 18th fairway a facetious apology.. this time a two ball chipped in in front of our three ball on the 8th, without so much as a word, and then held us up.
As someone who plays a lot of courses, I don’t come across this very often, and it always spoils the experience. If the course doesn’t need or want visitors that’s fair enough, but if you are selling green fees (which of course subsidises members ultimately), then those members should be aware enough to behave politely when visitors are around.

Visitors dont feel welcome
The course is in need alot of maintenance compared to local courses. The course has not recovered from the hot summer. Real shame as I like the lay out. The club house seems very clicky and did not feel welcomed as a guest. Finished my drink quickly and moved onReviewer Rating

Great course, But !!
I played a society day competition today, we was looked after in Pro shop and hospitality, the greens and landing areas was well watered meaning approach shots stuck, The course is good challenge with sloping Fairways Greens and tight Tee shots, Only needed driver on 1 or 2 holes. Good practice areas for chipping and putting with 4 nets to get swinging before your round. The only downside that spoilt a great day was some stupid member hitting practice balls down the 11th Fairway, He was hitting balls about 75 yards down the fairway on what looks like practice mats or winter tees! he seemed to wait when he saw us but still hit right as i was swinging! not happy as a sliced my drive right and had to poke it out sideways. and then as swung to hit my approach shot into the green a ball cam flying past me, i turned around and shouted and waved but he just kept hitting balls down the fairway it made it impossible for me to hit my shot, after dodging about 12 balls which landed at me, he walked off the tee, but only to get another tube of balls, so i rushed my shot and due to my anger and rush to get going i hit a bad shot and landed in the bunker with a bad lie meaning a treble bogey and the only hole i did not score on, possibly costing me the win for the day. I have never experienced anything like this in the 30 years plus i have been playing golf up and down the country. after airing my disappointment to the Pro i left it at that. This was the 3rd time i palyed this course and each time we have had to play past guys practising down 11 and 12, im not sure i wil play here again dispite it being local and all else is great(Round played: Jun 2018 - Score: 84 Handicap: 14.7)

Challenging track inside the M25
Played Crews Hill as part of 36 holes in a day. Very easy to find off the M25 and club were quite welcoming. We were a two ball and hired a buggy, the buggy ride is a challenge in itself driving over the furrows of old on every hole - slow and easy is the trick. The greens were fast and true in excellent condition, the fairways were manicured and well cut. Most holes are played on a slanting gradient so driving the ball is so important - the 10th is probably a signature hole Par 3 over a brook. Overall a very enjoyable round at ?22.50 for a visitor - the only disappointment - slow play - a three ball holding us up on every hole.Reviewer Rating

Great condition for the time of year
Played here as our course was closed. North London/south herts can be grim in the winter due to the London clay, but the condition of fairways and greens was excellent. We had a great time. Really fun golf. Some lovely holes, nothing too difficult.
Welcome in pro shop and bar was warm.
Only cost £15 each for a winter twilight.
Really recommend it.
