What The Club Says
The superb course was designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie and used as an Open Regional Qualifier for the South of England from 2000 to 2005. Our impeccable facilities are set in an imposing Georgian Clubhouse built in 1781 and is located in a beautiful and peaceful parkland setting off the beaten track, but still only 11 miles from the centre of London.

clearly caused problems through winter.
Greens are very undulating & must be tricky in the summer.
Shame the members dont care enough to repair all their pitch marks
& divots, the greens resembled the moons surface.
Food was excellent & staff are very helpful.
Great clubhouse & facilities.
Well worth a summer visit once works been completed

Nice but........
Hospitality was top notch. The welcome in the Clubhouse was brilliant. Food was tremendous.Unfortunately, the course was not in it's best condition. Clearly the fairways suffered in last years hot spell and there are many signs of bare patches. The rough likewise suffered and is very patchy. The greens are very good, but were significantly two paced.
There's a huge amount of drainage work going on (18th hole was shut) and I wouldn't want to play here again until all that work has settled down and been proved to improve conditions.
Additionally, a pitch repairer clearly isn't part of the member's golfing kit. We repaired more pitch marks than we should have had to at a Club of this stature (and price range).

Very friendly club, course a little disappointing
Greens in great shape but fairways struggling for grass given the recent hot conditions. A surprising negative point was the poor quality of sand in the bunkers, coarse and stony, for a course of this standard and fees not good enough. First time playing and there were a couple of not obvious green to tee links on the 3/4 and 9/10. Very friendly pro, bar staff and members.Reviewer Rating

Nice, but soggy!
A nice course with really good greens, but was very soggy compared to many other local courses. I am pleased to say that there was a good amount of drainage work going on, which I am sure will help a lot for next Autumn/Winter.Reviewer Rating

Wait until the major maintenance completed
We played mid Jan & although it hadn't rained for a week the course really hadn't drained well & their investment in corrected that was evident on several holes on the F9. As well as heavy going from tee to green the latter were very slow. I'm really looking forward to going back for a twilight in high summer because it's a great course & really worth seeing at its best.Reviewer Rating

Well worth it
Beautiful course, each hole was unique. It was in fantastic condition and the greens were amazing. Very quick and undulating. Lots of 3 puts, but lots of holed puts as well (just need to be a genius to get the line. Love the day and will be back, even though a pretty hefty price tag.(Round played: Oct 2021 - Score: 84 Handicap: 9.5)
