Course improving nicely ,but club bar needs a more welcoming vibe
Greenkeepers doing good job improving greens . Nice layout with holes flowing nicely - I particularly enjoy the 5th with its downhill drive then green over a nice pond, 12th with again a downhill drive over undulating terrain and 18 with similar undulations . Recent ditches have added to the strategy required on 18 for example. I like the little flags on flag sticks to show hole position and remind visitors to repair pitch marks. Also soil on par 3's good idea , I use more soil on unrepaired divots as people not quite getting into the habit yet it yet.Maybe small containers for broken tees , and more interaction at the 'club' would help improve golfers awareness out on the course. e.g someone kindly mentioning the soil provided on the par 3's and generally being encouraged to repair pitch marks and divots.
Lots of good stuff then on the course. However the welcome at 'golf bar' does not exist either when paying green fees or after the round.
The lack of a welcome lets the course itself down and makes you feel less inclined to return.
I see the welcome as an opportunity to embrace visitors , and to share course details which would in itself make the visit much more enjoyable . So Trent Park golf - keep going its going well , just get the staff to smile and engage

Shortish but interesting course
They have added a number of new ditches since I last played that adds to the ones already there as the course continually crosses a brook. Fairways in reasonable condition and the green surrounds good, but some of the green edges damaged. Excellent value for money.Reviewer Rating

Decent
Don't get me wrong great price for £17 during the week and after 4 on the weekends and for £27 at weekends before 4 and 12 for 6 and after, the course has these random ditches that stretch across the fairway and would hinder elderly players getting across as you may have to jump or take a long step over (it's not as bad as it sounds) the fairways in places can be as bad as the rough, tee boxes are horrible with random dirt patches on them, challenging holes, no practice greens which is weird even though it's listed on the map, decent driving range it very basic as its not got ball tracking technology but it's perfect for how close it it to oakwood station also a great day out for the kids as their is a 18 hole mini golf course and football astro turfs their. Lovely veiws, quite hilly wouldn't recommend for beginners!Reviewer Rating

Best Value Course
I like to play here once a year. Amazing value at £17 green fee. Very good course, plenty of varied holes. But it’s well used & best avoided in winter. Fairways can be patchy but greens are normally good although had been aerated recently so lush & on the slow side. Ultimately you pays your money & takes your choice & this is a great value fall back option.Reviewer Rating

Short but interesting and great value
Short course but interesting due to the layout criss crossing a brook. Course in fair condition with some of the greens needing attention however great value although pace was slow.Reviewer Rating

Good Course - Terrible Greens
Haven't played here for over 20 years, so was a unsure of how it held up.Lots of changes and additions to the space which has taken away from the experience.
Course layout is as good as i remember with some challenging holes and well established planting.
However, the greens were appalling, not 1 decent green out there. Signs of new drainage work being carried out which can only be good for the course.
Facilities were non existent as clubhouse was being refurbished.
Overall disappointed with the experience but at ?17.00 per a round what should be expected.
