Apart from Hollinwell this is the best course in Notts. The clubhouse has super views from a high vantage point over the course. The course has an great layout, not too long, but with plenty of thought provoking shapes. The trees provide definition for many holes, as well as heather and some gorse. The condition of the course was excellent with the best greens I have seen in a long time. The 7th is a standout hole, a downhill par 3. There are a couple of blind tee shots; the weak hole is the 14th with a water hazard hidden from view but in play off the tee.

Big name course, spectacular drive in gives you a taste of what's to come. Nice practise set up well thought out as you would expect.
Pretty tough walk, overall plenty of memorable holes but more weak ones than I expected with a couple too many blind shots. Rough a little untidy in places. Fairways and greens in particular superb however. Stimped them at just under 10, extremely quick, fastest I have measured in the uk in the last year.
Overall worth the trip most certainly, wouldn't argue with anyone rating this very highly.

Only played here a few times before. What an absolutely excellent place to play golf. The course is in great condition for the time of year and the greens fast and true. Lots of improvements from last time and the prospect of a new swanky clubhouse in the pipeline. I might just have to put my name on the waiting list!!!

This course lives up to its reputation and never disappoints. Undulating and tiring with long par fours. From parts of the course you can see across the countryside making the course very interesting and enjoyable. I always look forward to playing there

Played this course in 26/4/16 its was in great nick considering how wet its been. Great greens pretty quick too. They have made quite a few changes for the better and this is apparently ongoing after a report from the BBC's Ken Brown!
Good atmosphere and friendly members, food was good to. Thoroughly worth a visit. Tomas Hower Score 79 - HC 6

Beautiful course, great atmosphere, in my top 10

I had waited a year to get a date to play this course I first saw during a PXG fitting there. We played on a misty Monday morning in October after horrendous rain and flooding across the UK. On arrival the course was shrouded in mist but playable by our 10.30 tee time. The very helpful pro informed us that the 5th hole was out of play due to a new lake having appeared overnight but every other hole was open. We went for a bite to eat hoping the mist would disappear. The newish clubhouse is lovely, quite a small spike bar but the breakfast wrap was excellent. I always sigh in disappointment when places do not do a large coffee, but a small mug worked on this occasion. The pro suggested we tee off on the 10th to avoid the mass of members who had not been able to get on their course all week and the price had been reduced to half (40 quid) because of the circumstances. The back nine is amazing, undulating hills, valleys and tree lined, heathered rough makes for a photo every hole. The greens were immaculate, tee boxes looked unplayed on and the fairways well maintained. We flew round the back nine in 90 mins and arrived at the first with no-one in sight and teed off again. The front nine still lovely and well bunkered and great use of the natural lie of the land. I would say out of 18 holes, only hole 6 was slightly disappointing but thats being over critical on a course which commands 100 quid in the summer and is worth every penny. We had such an enjoyable 18 holes we asked to play the back nine again (as the mist had now gone) and they gave us the go ahead so we got to do it all again. Fantastic day out in lovely October weather. The pro is a credit to the club (sorry did not get a name but young lad with a beard), the course is superb and my mate and I both off single figures tried to decide on here for 100 or Hollinwell for 185. I think I would go with Coxmoor for the whole package as I do not think Hollinwell as a whole package is worth the extra. If you like golf, this is a must play course. One comment we did both make is that the course is not hard off yellows, with everything reachable and quite forgiving rough. But see what you think!
