Championship course

What a pleasure playing this challenging course. The greens were superb and very testing, fairways were brilliantly cut and overall an excellent day. Members were very accommodating

Great Course,Great Staff, Great Value

I recently booked the winter package at Coxmoor GC and couldn't recommend it highly enough, on arrival to the pro shop, I was greeted to warm welcome from the resident pro (Craig) I believe. He then pointed us out to the new club house(2019) which has a modern state of the art feel. Whilst there we enjoyed a sublime bacon roll and hot filter coffee before our round. Now to the important stuff the course, the course is very playable and has some lovely holes. There fair ways where wet as we played in one of the wettest October's on record but despite this where draining very well and was even allowed a buggy on course. Which didn't damage or cut up the course at all, the greens were superb and extremely quick!!! As course I found it to be excellent and a fair test of all abilities, for those who wish to compare it to nearby Sherwood GC. I would say this is impossible to do as both are very different but enjoyable courses. After we enjoyed and fantastic post round pie and chips. Great course, great staff! Great value!!

Very picturesque course

First time visiting. Very impressed with the course with standout holes being 7, 9 and 13 for aesthetics. Look forward to playing again in the not too distant future.

One of the Best in the Midlands

Played here several times and its an absolute gem. Interesting and challenging great greens. Lots going on at the club redesign of the 10th and 16th with new bunkers and tees in partnership with BBC Ken Brown. A new clubhouse on the way too. Great value and a great day out, helpful members and staff.

Excellent golf course although did not complement my natural right to left shape off the tee. Greens were true if a little slow and the rough was very challenging.

beautiful course

Despite it being VERY wet recently the course played well. There were a few temporary greens in operation of mixed quality but the greens we did play on were spot on. Love the layout of this beautiful course. Great challenge.

Beautiful course, great atmosphere, in my top 10

I had waited a year to get a date to play this course I first saw during a PXG fitting there. We played on a misty Monday morning in October after horrendous rain and flooding across the UK. On arrival the course was shrouded in mist but playable by our 10.30 tee time. The very helpful pro informed us that the 5th hole was out of play due to a new lake having appeared overnight but every other hole was open. We went for a bite to eat hoping the mist would disappear. The newish clubhouse is lovely, quite a small spike bar but the breakfast wrap was excellent. I always sigh in disappointment when places do not do a large coffee, but a small mug worked on this occasion. The pro suggested we tee off on the 10th to avoid the mass of members who had not been able to get on their course all week and the price had been reduced to half (40 quid) because of the circumstances. The back nine is amazing, undulating hills, valleys and tree lined, heathered rough makes for a photo every hole. The greens were immaculate, tee boxes looked unplayed on and the fairways well maintained. We flew round the back nine in 90 mins and arrived at the first with no-one in sight and teed off again. The front nine still lovely and well bunkered and great use of the natural lie of the land. I would say out of 18 holes, only hole 6 was slightly disappointing but thats being over critical on a course which commands 100 quid in the summer and is worth every penny. We had such an enjoyable 18 holes we asked to play the back nine again (as the mist had now gone) and they gave us the go ahead so we got to do it all again. Fantastic day out in lovely October weather. The pro is a credit to the club (sorry did not get a name but young lad with a beard), the course is superb and my mate and I both off single figures tried to decide on here for 100 or Hollinwell for 185. I think I would go with Coxmoor for the whole package as I do not think Hollinwell as a whole package is worth the extra. If you like golf, this is a must play course. One comment we did both make is that the course is not hard off yellows, with everything reachable and quite forgiving rough. But see what you think!

Great Course

Played here a while ago and came back to see the changes. Wow what a great course this is, every hole feels different and challenging. Brand New clubhouse is stunning with great food and service. Greens slick for the time of year a club certainly investing in the future..

Fantastic but tough course

An excellent course, lots of variety, quite hilly in places and hard work! Enjoyed the round, but a bit of a tough test off whites for high handicappers like myself. Clubhouse staff very hospitable and helpful. Pro shop was good, score saver a bit outdated and missing bunkers, which for £4 is a bit cheeky. The practice facilities are ok but a bit of a confusing layout of those facilities. Catered for gluten free diets which for me was a big help!

Overall, I would play again when I've improved my game. Toughest course I've played to date and enjoyed the experience.

Must Play Great Course

Played here for the first time on a recommendation and it was well worth the travel. Treated very well from the start to finish. Course was a real treat firm greens at a great pace for this time of year. the changes being made look great I’m coming back to play the new 10th hole! New driving range near the observatory and great short game area were nice touches. Food and staff first class.

Captains away day, course suited all handicap's a very fair course. Great test of golf, greens were very quick, fairways were beautiful , rough was tough. The members were very friendly it was a great day out, and staff in the clubhouse were very professional. The food was the best carvery I 'd eaten at any golf club. If I lived closer I would join.
