Tempting par 4s
There's plenty of interesting tee shots on this course. Decent value for money for the course too.Three or four par 4s are definitely driveable, if you're keen to take the risk.

Brierley Forest Review
Course played in September 2024. Initially I was really looking forward to playing here for the first time based on the green fee which I thought offered good value for money. However, it quickly became apparent why this course was cheap! On arriving to the course, the clubhouse is actually an old pub which doesn't give a great impression. If like me you were playing for the first time, the first tee is actually 200 yards away from the clubhouse and not very well signposted. At the side of the first tee is probably the worst practice putting green I have ever seen. It's simply a plot of land with holes in and really quite embarrassing. On approaching the first green I noticed the greenside bunker full of footprints, this was the norm for the rest of the round. Bunkers were not raked because there were no rakes available! The course is very untidy, bins at the side of tees were full and litter was scattered around the course. The tee's were uneven and although quite spacious were very scruffy. The greens were full of pitch marks, very slow and bobbly. Divots were not replaced on the fairways. A good shot could be punished by bouncing into the trees that line the fairways as some of the holes are on a hillside. This course is clearly frequented by members or visitors with no golfing etiquette. I noticed 3 guys sharing one bag of clubs! Overall it was a very disappointing visit and probably one the worst courses I have played to date.Reviewer Rating

Much Improved
The club has made lots of improvements from my previous visit which was great to see. The clubhouse now looks a lot better, there are visible improvements to the tees and it seems the green staff are constantly working on the course. Overall I was impressed with what is going on here. The course is not easy, don't be fooled by the 6,000 yardage as the course is very undulating so keeping the ball on the fairway is a must. Well done to the staff, its getting better!Reviewer Rating
