Not good

The course was in the worst condition I have seen it in all year. Bald patches all over, greens, fairways and as for the rough in some areas, no grass at all.

Booked a 9.30 tee off, but got there to find a match with another club in progress. Eventual tee off at 10.10, before another society started at 10.30. No hot food available in the club house after the round because the cook was preparing a carvery for the society. The whole day seemed disjointed. The course had matured since I last played there and was in good condition.

I played here after hearing good reviews - Wish I'd not bothered! ... The course is like a mudbath, small poor greens and the tees are pathetic. I've recently played the course at Mansfield Golf Club & Range and it made Brierley look like a joke. Even the staff at Brierley didn't have a good word to say about the place. I will be returning to Mansfield with my membership fee!!!

Couldn't really be faulted. Played off mats due to wet weather but fairway and greens in good condition given the weather! Really friendly clubhouse staff

2nd time in 2 weeks played here weather was wet all evening

Course has held up very well with the bad weather had over the last week
Some holes were a bit soft and taking divots was par for the course

Greens run true as ever
Front 9 was a joy and played some of my best golf
then the back 9 kicked me in the teeth but held on

Great fun for all abilities and loving the course already

Give it a go its a blast

a lovely first 9 but back 9 very tricky for the not so experienced, very hilly and up and down in places, par 5 holes are up and down adjacent to each other, didnt like them when i played them, also very sloping towards each other, you need to play the round several times to get the course, tricky

Much Improved

The club has made lots of improvements from my previous visit which was great to see. The clubhouse now looks a lot better, there are visible improvements to the tees and it seems the green staff are constantly working on the course. Overall I was impressed with what is going on here. The course is not easy, don't be fooled by the 6,000 yardage as the course is very undulating so keeping the ball on the fairway is a must. Well done to the staff, its getting better!

Very enjoyable day

14 of us held our tenth Golf Masters here today. Very friendly staff throughout from John in the pro shop ,Grant and the two ladies serving beer and bacon cobs .

Course starts off nice and flat then wow its tough stuff. Never get a flat lie !!!!
Greens are really tough and achieving par on some holes feel like done really well.
Would have liked a few marker posts to give us a rough idea where we are going but only a slight negative . One of our guys shot a 80 so he enjoyed his day .

Hidden Gem, nice course

It's not the most inspiring when you arrive as the clubhouse is an old pub and it all looks a bit grotty. However, the course is in excellent condition and is very interesting to play. Club members and staff are very friendly. Toilets in the pub and clubhouse are very poor however (just one toilet and one urinal) with no lock on the door!

Avoid!,

We are 16 handicap golfers who play twice weekly on a variety of courses in the £15/20 range.I have never submitted a bad review before, but this place needs avoiding.
The rough is unplayable, the tees are poor, the fairways need cutting and it is virtually impossible to hold the greens with approach shots.
We were charged £2.50 more than expected, and when we asked for coffee we were presented with mugs of hot water and told to make our own.
We will not be back, and hope that this review helps others to avoid our mistake of booking a round here

Nice course and really friendly members. Helps if youve played it before as one or two holes are quite quirky.
