What the club says: The course is heathland and was established in 1913. The Regional Qualifier for the Open was held at Coxmoor in 1992 and 1993 and again from 1996 to 2001 and we are hopeful that it will return in the near future. In August 2008 the Club hosted the Reid Trophy, the under-14 Boy's International. In 2013, the Club appointed a new Head Greenkeeper and our course reflects the excellent work he and his team have been doing. Recent visitors have paid tribute to the outstanding condition of the course and friendly welcome. We are proud to be hosting England Golf this year for the Brenda King Foursomes. We welcome visitors and societies to play throughout the year and provide excellent catering to suit the needs of visiting golfers.

Fantastic but tough course
An excellent course, lots of variety, quite hilly in places and hard work! Enjoyed the round, but a bit of a tough test off whites for high handicappers like myself. Clubhouse staff very hospitable and helpful. Pro shop was good, score saver a bit outdated and missing bunkers, which for £4 is a bit cheeky. The practice facilities are ok but a bit of a confusing layout of those facilities. Catered for gluten free diets which for me was a big help!

Overall, I would play again when I've improved my game. Toughest course I've played to date and enjoyed the experience.

Must Play Great Course
Played here for the first time on a recommendation and it was well worth the travel. Treated very well from the start to finish. Course was a real treat firm greens at a great pace for this time of year. the changes being made look great I’m coming back to play the new 10th hole! New driving range near the observatory and great short game area were nice touches. Food and staff first class.

One of the Best in the Midlands
Played here several times and its an absolute gem. Interesting and challenging great greens. Lots going on at the club redesign of the 10th and 16th with new bunkers and tees in partnership with BBC Ken Brown. A new clubhouse on the way too. Great value and a great day out, helpful members and staff.

BUNGS Society match.
Great course with some interesting holes. Redesigning the 10th hole so we had to play to two temporaries but did not spoil the round. must visit again.

Great course let down by finer detail
Fantastic layout with challenging tees & greens. However the course was let down by a couple of things:
1. Signage around the greens with next tee direction were non existent
2. Information on course maintenance alternative holes was very poor, no signs (even asked the pro who was teaching for directions & he sent us the wrong way!!)
3. When asked for any relevant course info in pro shop wasn’t informed of temporary green on one hole (which was about 40yds different to main hole!!)

Apart from Hollinwell this is the best course in Notts. The clubhouse has super views from a high vantage point over the course. The course has an great layout, not too long, but with plenty of thought provoking shapes. The trees provide definition for many holes, as well as heather and some gorse. The condition of the course was excellent with the best greens I have seen in a long time. The 7th is a standout hole, a downhill par 3. There are a couple of blind tee shots; the weak hole is the 14th with a water hazard hidden from view but in play off the tee.

Big name course, spectacular drive in gives you a taste of what's to come. Nice practise set up well thought out as you would expect.
Pretty tough walk, overall plenty of memorable holes but more weak ones than I expected with a couple too many blind shots. Rough a little untidy in places. Fairways and greens in particular superb however. Stimped them at just under 10, extremely quick, fastest I have measured in the uk in the last year.
Overall worth the trip most certainly, wouldn't argue with anyone rating this very highly.

Only played here a few times before. What an absolutely excellent place to play golf. The course is in great condition for the time of year and the greens fast and true. Lots of improvements from last time and the prospect of a new swanky clubhouse in the pipeline. I might just have to put my name on the waiting list!!!

This course lives up to its reputation and never disappoints. Undulating and tiring with long par fours. From parts of the course you can see across the countryside making the course very interesting and enjoyable. I always look forward to playing there

Played this course in 26/4/16 its was in great nick considering how wet its been. Great greens pretty quick too. They have made quite a few changes for the better and this is apparently ongoing after a report from the BBC's Ken Brown!
Good atmosphere and friendly members, food was good to. Thoroughly worth a visit. Tomas Hower Score 79 - HC 6
