Overall this is a good golf club with a good pro shop and clubhouse but a course which most of our society found a bit boring. Plenty of water and doglegs to make it different but it just seemed like lazy course design to me and standing on most tees faced with very similar shots was not enjoyable. Condition was good and greens were reasonable but feel the previous reviews are very optimistic considering where else you could be playing in Notts. Much preferred Oakmere which we played the day before. P.S. Ridiculously small and poor toilets which were clearly not updated at the same time as the clubhouse.

Golfshake Team ReviewVery difficult today, greens were hard and icy so difficult to stop anything and judging the bounce was a lottery. Having said that the course was in decent nick but will reserve judgement after a round in better conditions - signs look good though. Not the most interesting front 9 you'll ever see, but the back is much more picturesque.

A decent course, I much prefer the Masters over the Open course, as it has some lovely holes, the 17th will test your wills if you are not a long or straight hitter, because it holds two big water hazards! The par 3 16th gives you something to think about, as it hosts a lake infront of the green and due to the slope of the green, your ball will always roll a little down the slope, towards the water!

A choice of 4x9 holes, Cotgrave has a variety of challenges for all standards of golfer. They had just put their prices up when I played last, an at just under £30 for 18 holes, has moved it down in my choice of favourite course. Still, if you don't mind the cost, its an enjoyable round, whichever selection of holes you choose.

Golfshake Team ReviewUnfair to comment really, the club is going through a lot of changes and development at present so the pro shop and bar where in temp use and work is still ongoing on the Masters courses.

For the time of year and given all the recent rain the course was in generally good condition. Greens were sporadic and some winter tees in use.

Even on a wet and windy day ...

Lovely, clubhouse and welcome. Played the 2nd course, the Signature, but it was still an excellent challenge, well kept. I will come back in summer to see it in its full gliry

Out of Bounds

I cannot remember playing a course in all my golfing life with so many out of bounds on literally
every hole on some holes it was both sides of the fairway.
That said I enjoyed playing the course and it was a blustery day so you had to control the flight of the ball.
As well as the out of bounds you had a fair amount of water on the course as well.

Two good courses

Well maintained with slick greens. A good mix of holes, some where you can open your shoulders and others where strategy is key. Off course facilities were good too.
