Great value
Lovely municipal golf course. 9 holes are all good. Surprisingly long.

Edwalton GC conditions
Course conditions were appalling - just crap - wouldn't bother here again

Excellent value for money
I love this course. Just when you think you have tamed it, it comes back to bite you. A great mix of holes, all in 9 holes. My only criticism would be the lack of sand and proper sand at that in the bunkers. I know the bunkers are there not to be in but when you do have the misfortune to be in it?s bad news.
Please don?t be put off playing here, just stay out the bunkers :-)

Improving Course
Played on Friday in a two ball. Pace of play good and course in a reasonable condition. Greens improving, but still not quite there - patchy and slow. Very limited food in clubhouse after round. There are cheaper rounds on better courses nearby.

Greatly improved
The condition has greatly improved since I last played about 9 months ago.

Poor condition course

Rude & Arrogant!
No problem with a thirty five minute wait today for a 13.20 tee time due to a Seniors Competition. I got a very nice friendly greeting and good service (including a later refund) in the clubhouse. However, having arrived on the tee at the designated time, it was alarming to be so close to teeing off that I was actually into my pre-shot routine, before one of the Senior Members came rushing across to inform me that they had right of way here (though according to the clubhouse their last tee was booked for 13.05!).
As I walked off the tee (and indeed off the course never to return) it was interesting to hear from the same member that, ‘We are a four ball, so it’s going to be quite slow’… One wonders then why, I as a single handicap and single player a few seconds from teeing off, I might not have been allowed to play!
It’s unusual to see this level of entitlement and arrogance at a golf club nowadays, but sadly still not impossible...

Value for Money
Value for money.Considering the weather we?ve had (wet spring, now warn sun) the course is in good condition. The greens were good, if a little fluffy and needed a cut but given the rate of growth this time of year the staff have a hard job keeping up so it?s acceptable.
My only criticism is that the bunkers need a complete revamp with proper bunker sand with no stones. The sand seemed to be fine red sand with lots of stones and no depth at all. The lack of sand made the club bounce making it difficult to get the club under the ball due to the lack of sand.
However considering the price paid for the round it still made it good value for money.

ideal for practise
Played after work so only £4. I find it better to hit round a course than the false smack of a driving range !!Greens are not as loved as the main course (apart from the 9th hole ) but for me its just ideal for practising and judging distance. Only issue was the bar was closed afterwards...

Greens need attention

I paid £7 for my 18 holes on a Wednesday at senior rates and headed if to the first tee with my friend who plays here regularly.
The fairways are generous with the rough a little unforgiving but the point of this game is to hit the fairway so if you stray off the fairway do not complain, it's not the courses fault that you cannot hit it straight.
The fairways had a fair amount of dead grass cuttings but the ball ran on in the dry conditions.
The greens were in good condition too. There were a couple that had suffered a bit of damage due to the dry weather.
The only reasonable complaint was that the sand in the bunkers was poor.
Overall for a municipal course with limited funds this was good value for money.
The limited green keeper staff do a good job considering the limitations
And at £7 a round i had good value.
If you want a perfect course go to a club that charges perfect course fees.

Frustrating round of golf
Got stuck behind a FIVE ball yesterday. They shared clubs and one was wearing jeans. They were asked to split by another golfer to speed up the game but didn't. I mentioned it to a member of staff in the clubhouse, but he didn't seem bothered!!! We will not return to this golf course.
