What the club says: Comprising of two gently sloping parkland 9 hole courses, this Nottinghamshire Treasure, a mere 10 minute drive from Nottingham's city centre, encompasses everything the newcomer, occasional or established golfer desires.

Once heralded amid one of the top ten public courses in the UK for its individuality and quality, Edwalton Golf Centre also provides a relaxed, tranquil and friendly atmosphere.

The courses are public, which allows you to turn up, hire your clubs and trolley, pay and play. If you want to secure yourself a slot at the busy weekend, simply call up and make a booking.

Played the 9 hole short course for some practice:

It is what it is and what you are paying for. Great way to get into golf or for some short game practice.

Not a big fan of footgolf so wasn't really into that sharing the holes but didn't interfere too much.

Probably could do with a bit of TLC but as mentioned you are paying a cheap price so shouldn't be expecting Wentworth. - Jun 22 2016

Rude & Arrogant!
No problem with a thirty five minute wait today for a 13.20 tee time due to a Seniors Competition. I got a very nice friendly greeting and good service (including a later refund) in the clubhouse.

However, having arrived on the tee at the designated time, it was alarming to be so close to teeing off that I was actually into my pre-shot routine, before one of the Senior Members came rushing across to inform me that they had right of way here (though according to the clubhouse their last tee was booked for 13.05!).

As I walked off the tee (and indeed off the course never to return) it was interesting to hear from the same member that, ‘We are a four ball, so it’s going to be quite slow’… One wonders then why, I as a single handicap and single player a few seconds from teeing off, I might not have been allowed to play!

It’s unusual to see this level of entitlement and arrogance at a golf club nowadays, but sadly still not impossible...

Value for Money
Value for money.
Considering the weather we?ve had (wet spring, now warn sun) the course is in good condition. The greens were good, if a little fluffy and needed a cut but given the rate of growth this time of year the staff have a hard job keeping up so it?s acceptable.
My only criticism is that the bunkers need a complete revamp with proper bunker sand with no stones. The sand seemed to be fine red sand with lots of stones and no depth at all. The lack of sand made the club bounce making it difficult to get the club under the ball due to the lack of sand.
However considering the price paid for the round it still made it good value for money.

Main course in great condition considering the recent bad weather. Tee’d off at 7.30am and played 18 for a tenner. Can’t go wrong. Friendly staff in the clubhouse. Now sat in the sun with a pint and a BLT. Can’t get any better. Spot on.

ideal for practise
Played after work so only £4. I find it better to hit round a course than the false smack of a driving range !!

Greens are not as loved as the main course (apart from the 9th hole ) but for me its just ideal for practising and judging distance. Only issue was the bar was closed afterwards...
