What the club says: The Open course comprises a front nine built around a stunning lake and a back nine featuring mature trees and open fairways.
The Masters course is designed in part by Peter Alliss and combines ancient hedgerows and undulating fairways with large greens and strategically placed water hazards.
What Golfshake says: Open - New owners have changed the way you play the course but for the btter. As always in great condition and a tough test of golf. A lot of different holes.
Masters - A great beginners course or one for low handicappers to get some confidence up. But relax at your peril, you can still find danger here and putting on good undulating greens is tough.

Very entertaining course
Loved it. All 4 of us said we'd play again. The course layout is great bringing loads of water hazards into play. So I only drew the driver out nine times....course management is key. Par 3 14th was my favorite - I have never seen a drop zone quite like it - an island DZ on its own stuck in the middle of the lake! Great fun - that;s what sums the course up. £30 on a Saturday including lunch (not just a soup & roll bit a full Turkey roast!) we will be back! NB there is a 'course official on the first tee' and if you aren't quite good enough he will politely ask you to play the other course BTW. No pressure then! :-)

Golf Course Reviews for The Nottinghamshire Golf & Country Club
A lot of money being invested to make what is already one of the nicest courses in the country into an even better venue.

Despite all the construction work going on at the club house and some work on some holes it was a great days golf. Greens were running quick and the rest of the course was well maintained.

The course still played well for the conditions so really enjoyed the round, must visit again and have yet to play the Championship course

The course is very nice with lots of interesting and challenging holes, with a great finishing hole to really test you

Played here as a guest, not played since it was Cotgrave Place so amazed how different it was previously. There is still a lot of work taking place including some on the course but this did not take away from the round. Played the Championship, (previously the Open I think) course. Considering the previous weather we had had the main course fairways and greens played well with the greens really catching me out as they were a lot quicker than I expected, and my playing partner. The course now plays in a slightly different direction than I remember but I thought it worked very well, with some holes certainly making you "plot" your way around. Would certainly play here again and would recommend to all. The clubhouse is refreshing in that golf shoes can be worn which makes life a little easier as well as more welcoming. Food and drink very good.

Really tricky holes and greens but a good round can be had through careful club selection and positive green reading.

Have played here a few times over last couple of years and always been impressed with the facilities and the course. Yesterday, not so much.
There's a lot of work taking place around the clubhouse which is understandable out of peak season and to be fair this was not really an issue for our group.
The course was in my opinion poor. The greens weren't in good condition (compared to other courses played recently) and the new layout seems a little haphazard (why play 7 holes of one loop, cross over, play the other loop, then cross over again). Strange. Certain areas of the course also need better walkways and paths ahead of next winter (around the old 17th / 18th especially).
Pace of play was ok for us and good to have space in the bar after for a drink (although the busier this place gets, the less room there will be for everyone).
Used to enjoy coming back here, and might try later in the year once all work has been completed, but others worth a try in the meantime.
January and course still open. Bit wet in places and on ?chipping? mats on some holes but great to play rather than have to be on the range.
Great courses in summer - Championship the hard one with the signature easier. Courses open all year round.
Food very good, good value and quick service. Had the Notts burger well worth a try

We played the inner course with lots of lakes and ponds. It's fun and testy, hard to score well because of lots of hazards.
It's quite short, not one for the longer drives
Challenging and nice alternative to the Championship course, albeit not quite as good.

Played the championship course which felt like two different courses joined together. The first 9 has plenty of greens protected by water. The second 9 is a lot flatter and longer.
