Well laid out worth a visit

Good course with a nice layout. Only let down by the greens as they have just been tined and sanded.

Nicely appointed Golf Course

I really enjoyed my round at Chelsfield Lakes 18 hole course. The course is pretty well looked after, greens we pretty good, well watered even with this hot dry spell we are having.
The course is quite challenging, with some water, trees and Orchard hazards to overcome, but enjoyable. Key is to not try to hit the ball as far as you can, but carefully and straight, no need to try to cut corners. Every par 4 green is reachable in 2 and par 5 in 3. Trying to hit it too hard results in lost balls.

Whilst I enjoyed playing this course as I like to try different courses, the course was pretty average. The pace of play was slow, but it was a Sunday morning, and the greens were a little patchy and bumpy, although well watered during a hot period. The bunkers really ought to have revamp, as some are super hard with little sand in them, and no-one seemed to care about raking them after use.
Having said that, the pro shop has lots of choice of clothing and equipment, the staff were friendly and there is a large Trackman range. I'd like to try the 9 hole course to find a bit of local variety for a short game and use the range, but I'm not sure I'd play the 18 again at £39 each.

The course was in good condition compared to a few weeks back, greens are starting to recover, but there are no ball cleaning on each hole, also the bunkers are terrible I took from 3 stones the size of golf ball in to club house to show them and the bunkers very hard like cement.

Very Overpriced

Played this course many times, not for a few years though. Couldn't believe they now charged ?39 per round, considering the condition of the greens. Really let's the course down.

Diseased greens

Such a shame, but all 18 greens are decimated by disease. Bumps/craters/patches on all 18. Rest of the course is fine (some bunkers with very little sand) but barely worth putting at the moment. They are allowing grass to grow, so putts are so slow, but also jumping left/right as they go over bare patches etc. A real shame, but seriously avoid until fixed.

Visited on a society day. Very friendly staff, huge breakfast! Sadly, the greens and some tee boxes were not in the best of condition.
