Stay away in winter, its a rip off
Where do I start with this course? The greens were covered in mud and bobbly.
There were about 3 good greens out of 18 the rest were tuff to putt on.
The price of £39 is way too much for this course even in the summer.
Winter fee should be £20/25
We had a 5 ball infront of us the whole round 1 of them was wearing tracksuit bottoms.
A Marshall told them 3 times to spilt up but they didn't listen.
We even told the Marshall twice but he was just interested in seeing a receipt for the green fee.
We waited every tee for them but it was soo slow they were waiting for the 3 ball infront of them.
4.5 hour round.
We won't be coming back here again.
I understand the weather and rain makes courses tuff in winter but the whole way this course is run is unprofessional.
What is going on here?
Where are the standards?
Stay away
You have been warned.
I always seem to have bad experiences in this area.
High elms is just as bad if not worse.

Been along time - Matured
Last time played here was in 2009. Mostly open with little to praise it. Now a feww blind tee shots and some plotting to do round the course. Tee boxes could be better and greens need a bit more TLC but for a public course not too bad.(Round played: Feb 2022 - Score: 88 Handicap: 15.3)

Maybe come back next year
Big complex with 18 & 9 hole courses and large range. Chiefly public / pay & play. Decent enough layout and challenge, but the greens have recently seen a lot of disease and are really not up to scratch yet. My guess is it'll be several months before they are. The bunkers are pretty awful too. Little sand (more like mud actually) and generally scruffy. This course is heavily played and the general air says probably overplayed.(Round played: Aug 2020 - Score: 87 Handicap: 10.3)

On the short side but interesting
Lots of GUR around the greens, but we were forewarned on the first tee. Some interesting holes, with severe doglegs.Heavy penalisation for being in the second cut, a few lost balls which were seen down but disappeared.
Greens not in great condition, they were flat, but lots of dead grass patches, caused trouble if on the putting line.
Overall I'd play it again for the variety., but there are other courses in the area that are cheaper in the twilight slot that we played in, and is better condition.

5 hour round, basic course
Played on 24th March, tee off time at 11:30 and queuing from the first tee and every hole after. Came off after 10th hole as it took us over 2 1/2 hours. Went to the pro shop to ask if staff would give us a part refund, and they had no interest in apologising let alone refunding us.The course isn't in bad condition but a pretty basic layout. Unless you are happy to play a 5 hour round as a 2 ball I'd avoid.

Painfully slow
Teed off at 11:30 on a Sunday morning in late March and it took 2.5 hours to do 9 holes as a two ball. No marshal in sight and the guy in the pro shop seemingly didn’t care, telling us to come back tomorrow (a Monday) to see the pro if we wanted to complain. Course itself is pretty uninteresting compared to others in the area. Won’t be coming back.Reviewer Rating

Great course
A good course that is great for beginners to low handicap players. The course is well kept but does get quite busy at weekends and can cause slow play.Reviewer Rating
